Why are we continuing to allow folks to list their name as "anonymous" on RallyPoint, and ask questions when the stated RallyPoint rules say that this is not allowed? If someone will not reveal their real name, they should not be on this site.

We allow Anonymous users as a security/OPSEC measure. If they want to be verified, I must see their name on their profile and it must match their proof of service document however if the member uses ID.me; then we can't control that. That's the "admin answer" now for the "Ben Keen non-admin answer"; I will say that I see your point. I rather see and know who I'm talking with but at the same time, I understand why some users need/want to keep their name offline. Now, if an "annoymous" account is not verified and is starting terrible, I am faster to remove the account than I would be if the account is verified but I still double-check with the user admins before taking that action.

Makes sense. However, anonymous is still odd. But in the end, does it really matter.

Sgt (Join to see) - I've wondered how folks who have been here awhile still do that. I understand new folks not having a profile but after a while they could at least list their name.

This old Senior Chief can't remember much detail like when I was advanced to Petty Officer Second Class or a complete listing of what ribbons/medals awarded, etc. It's all on certificates or other paperwork in a few boxes in the garage and I do not have enough energy, or physical ability, to attempt to piece it all together. My energy and time is better spent on such things as assisting my wife who has multiple medical issues. I have total respect for everyone who can fill in everything in their profile. The three certificates that I photographed and emailed in to Rallypoint for account verification purposes were readily available for me to photograph and transmit only because my wife insisted that they be displayed on the wall of the second bedroom/office haha! The certificates were: graduation from the U.S. Coast Guard Chief Petty Officer Academy, advancement to Senior Chief Petty Officer, and retirement from the U.S. Coast Guard. That's my report.

Oh, and I don't have my photo up because Ii don't know how to do it and I don't want to bother my wife to help me (who's a better computer user than me)

SCPO (Join to see) - LOL That is all understandable, Senior Chief. The picture is pretty easy. If you click on the picture in your profile it will give you an option to upload your picture.
