I went to my local VA contractor, QTC for a medical review of a condition yesterday. Initially my visit was fine but quickly turned very adversarial, to include sarcasm and cajoling. Why does it have to be this way? Why is it I feel like I have to prove my issue all over again? This seem completely counter productive.

They can all be a bunch of assholes if you let them! I know that I've had my go arounds with those bastards. You can get real frustrated quickly! You think the Christ that the money was coming out of their pockets. WTF-Over!

Been there, done that. Still working on my appeal which takes so much time. They ignore those affected by Chernobyl, like me, but yet, recognize the nuke meltdown in Japan.

I am currently 40% disabled with PTSD and hearing loss but the VA has lost my medical records. I have tried for years to claim my physical injuries but every time I get return mail it simply states that there are no medical records. I even have a letter that the VA sent me telling me they transferred them from one department to another and yet they take no responsibility.

I completely understand your frustration. This is, of course, why all Soldier's should make copies of everything in their medical file....especially those that are full-time AR or NG. This is what my husband did for 26 years, and when he returned from 2 deployments, he ended up with 100% disability. On the upside, medical records are supposed to be kept for many, many years. Not sure if there is a destroy by date. Go to the places where you have been seen, tested, and prodded. You can always get more copies and then submit them to VA. I hate the way they get to the percentage. They don't add it together....it's a sum of a percentage of a sum. ???

Why is it that people sometimes turn into unmitigated assholes when they are in a position of power?
