Why do Hollywood celebrities and other entertainers believe their political opinions have merit and will influence policy?

I've often wondered the same thing around election time when celebrities feel the need to endorsements. I've never been in the voting booth and thought "Who would Ryan Seacreast vote for?" before I cast my ballot. Regardless of their political affiliations I could care less who celebrities think I should vote for.

Because the are overpaid, treated like royalty and act like they are entitled, all because the average person kisses their collective butts.

Yes... they are also disconnected and clueless to what actual Americans deal with
