Why does my contract stay that my OSUT is 24 weeks long?

Hey guys, quick question for anybody here because my recruiter said he didn't know and the MSG at MEPS said he didn't know either. I've tried searching all over but to no avail:
I start Basic the first week of October as 11x option 40. It says my OSUT is 24 weeks long, doesn't say anything about RASP, and doesn't say anything about Airborne School. But it does say that "total training" time is 26 weeks 4 days. Also says I have BAT Start Date of the last week of March...
On top of that, my contract term length is 4 years 29 weeks.
So I'm also assuming the 29 weeks tacked on to my 4 year contract is my training time? ... But 29 weeks of training time doesn't seem to be the normal length (even for option 40).
So here is my question... Why does my OSUT say 24 weeks??
-- Is it 14 weeks of OSUT + 2 weeks of Christmas Exodus + 8 weeks of RASP??
-- Is it 16 weeks of OSUT + 8 weeks of RASP??
-- Is it the new 22 week OSUT talked about on www(.)army(.)mill ?? Then 2 weeks of Christmas?
Like I said, my recruiter said he didn't know and the MSG at MEPS said he didn't know either.
All the while, I've been told that they changed the order around so that RASP is now always after OSUT but before BAT.
And so what I don't get is even with the 24 weeks of OSUT, the 2 weeks of BAT... say 1 week of 30th AG... That still only adds up to 28 weeks 4 days. And IF that doesn't include my time at RASP: Then that puts me at 36 weeks (with my contract saying 4 years 29 weeks)...
The training length and the dates don't make sense to me...

I can figure OSUT for you, a dead week to in process, 21 weeks OSUT now for 11B, and you will get a holiday break if you are there during Christmas. 24 weeks. My understanding is that you will go to Airborne when and if you complete RASP. They had started a "Pre-Rasp" week, I don't know if that is still in effect, but RASP is 8 weeks now. Then 3 weeks for Airborne. So 36 weeks is correct if you don't have any dead time between courses, which will happen.

CPT Lawrence Cable - That's a funny (and logical) rationalization. When I asked that question before, I was told, "That way if you fail something simple like Airborne, they know not to waste their time sending you to RASP."

SGT Nicholas M. - I think they started looking at it from the other side, the 8 week RASP course has about a 30 percent pass rate (as long as the Discovery Channel isn't recording your class), so that's 70 percent of the class that they don't have to fund for Airborne.

No shit? 21 Weeks for 11B OSUT?!?! Damn, in 1981, it was 12... as was 11C and 11H. Wow.

14 weeks in the 80's, I went through in 1983. That had been the standard until last year. Even then it was a dead week to in process, the reception station was at Ft Jackson then, and a week to graduate and clear, so you ended up there 16 weeks unless you had an airborne contract.

Didn’t read through the comments but you have to count for inprocessing which is usually a week long

Maybe next time you should read through a few comments instead of submitting a low-effort reply.

SGT Nicholas M. SGT, normally I would have but I was in the middle of getting my daughter ready for bed so I just commented. I was trying to be honest about no having read the comments so to disregard if it was already stated. Next time I’ll just not say anything at all.

BAT is Basic Airborne Training.
All you need to know is that if you aren't enrolled in RASP you can volunteer for it during Airborne school.
Stop trying to over think it. You're not accounting for possible wait times for classes to start between schools, etc. It takes as long as it takes, you just hurry up and wait till it's over.

Looking at when he says he is going to ship, my best guess is he will finish OSUT around the first week in March. Apparently he is going to BAT before Pre RASP, with a couple of dead weeks between OSUT and Airborne, which doesn't seem very out of line from when I was still around.

CPT Lawrence Cable I know they also started sending people to RASP prior to Airborne when they're in service recruits as well, because they got tired of paying for Airborne
