and is there anything I can do to prevent it/cool down faster? It gets super uncomfortably warm and I can't really lay on my back until I cool down.

Blood is being pumped more rapidly through your body & it is closer to the surface...your body will get Accustomed to it and it will become less noticable.

I start sweating after about 10 minutes of fast paced running.
