GOOD QUESTION! This is the problem with Uncle Sams promise to those who served and continue to serve. I find that I know more people who got disability for just living a normal life outside the military but vets with legit injuries are ignored.

Having left the Army a year ago, I learned a very hard lesson; after seperation do not ask people still on active duty from help unless your missing a limb. If you hit an ambulance parked on the drop zone during a jump and everyone saw it and it is in your file that you couldn't walk upright for a months without pain pills. You are still treated as "insert insult" for claiming it. Funny thing everyone that is aware of it that are no longer serving offered help. The paradigm shifts. So does this occur within VA?
