MS needs to re-establish credibility in the open source community, no one trusts them. The Github acquisition is $8B and if they don't hose people in the first few years they will regain some mind share.
The software development world is changing quickly with cloud solutions. If MS doesn't get on the train, it will be like IBM, declining revenue and market share because no one wants to be locked in and pay outrageous licensing fees for forever.

I forget that IBM exists at times. Maybe if I'd learn some COBAL. . .
Good points, though. Many are moving from Github due to the change. It seems MS needs more ways to feed big data plans. That's what made me less confused when they bought LinkedIn.

I don’t know why they are but I think it would be a good thing. Our use their business sweet for my company and love it. They really have improved their user experience and service offerings. I won’t be giving up my Mac anytime soon for a Surface though. Apple still makes the best hardware in my opinion.
