Seriously? Men far from home, no discernable women... the boys need to be reminded of what they're fighting for....

When I was in a war zone, it reminded me of "what I was fighting for". Granted that was decades ago, but I think it might be true still...

Boredom? Too much free time, I don't have an answer for you. Like everything in life...there is such a thing as too much of a good thing.

It depends squarely on the person. If someone was gonna cheat they were already gonna do it before they saw porn

A great way to take your mind off the situation or place that you are currently in.

Not sure how you came to the conclusion that porn leads to adultery, unless you're taking Jesus's words about looking at a woman with lust in your heart being adultery, but my guess would be that a dearth of women is the primary answer. Also, would you document where you found that there's a disproportionate use of porn in the military as compared to the civilian sector?

If you don't want to look at porn then don't. But don't make BS claims like it leading to adultery. There is 0 proof of that, and any evidence would come in the form of vague correlations that do not even begin to assess causation. Are you trying to be some kind of morality police? Are you using your personal religious beliefs to try and change the behavior of others? Stop with the censorship and live your own life the way you want. You do not have the right to censor anyone else, and your argument is completely false.

Just because something has the "potential " to cause an issue doesn't make it automatically and inherently bad. Watching porn, drinking alcohol, playing ridiculous pranks all come from the boredom that is everywhere in the "hurry up and wait" world.

Porn doesn't make you an adulterer. Cheating does. Know where the line is, know what you and your spouse are comfortable with, and don't be an idiot.

It isn't as if the CEO of Vivid Video held a gun to your head and made you cheat on your spouse. That's entirely your call, and saying that "porn made me do it" is a cop-out.

Does depend on how you define "is"?

Porn is popular everywhere. Just like pizza, both military and civilians love it. Adultery has always been pretty popular too. I would bet the adultery rate in the military now is about the same as it was before the internet and plentiful porn for all.
