Why is Prime Minister Modi so keen on deporting illegal immigrants from India, some that have been in India since partition in 1947?

India appears to be on a similar path like the U.S. to deport illegal immigrants, which immigrants have been in India since partition in 1947. There is a National Registry Commission (NRC) that was setup to gather data on registered residents in the country. The NRC published a list and in that list a husband is absented or wife is abandoned by the NRC. In short, the list is flawed. Politicians are at odds and Government is firm. Thus; is such exercises an exercise to harness a political vote bank, because elections are near?
The U.S. saw a similar exercise recently with families torn apart awaiting deportation. Given that the kids are born to illegal immigrants in the U.S. then, are such children of illegal immigrants free to be American or must they leave too and if they stay then, why can't their parents be naturalized, so the family is not separated?

The 14th amendment was not written to give citizenship to the children of illegal immigrants but to the children of freed slaves. I believe that the decision to extend that to all children born in the US was a big mistake by the Supreme Court.

The law of limitations; when parents are from states of terror, like Pakistan, such parents may not wish to expose their kids, born in the U.S., to be exposed to terrorism and, these parents may not know others in the U.S. with whom to leave their loved ones. Is the U.S. going to force such parents to leave their kids behind, simply based on our limitations to find the best solution a win-win concept?

Is the six-year rule etched in rock that without blowing up that rock flexibility is impossible; adaptability is a luxury, especially when parents of American children are not Americans. Deportation should be a final decision, when all else fails.

CPT Gurinder (Gene) Rana - "Is the U.S. going to force such parents to leave their kids behind, simply based on our limitations to find the best solution a win-win concept?" Well... if we institute a policy of automatic clemency, lawful residency, and social welfare for having a child after illegal entry; what do you think will be the result?
Every year 800-1000 bodies are found in the deserts of the American South West. Bodies that were illegal immigrants trying to get into the US. How many bodies are not found? How many die South of the border? Why would you want to sweeten the bait in the bear trap?
What percent of the world population lives in substandard conditions and dangerous environments? If we institute a policy of automatic clemency, lawful residency, and social welfare for illegal entry; how many families will you personally shelter, feed, clothe and provide daily necessities for? in your home? So to answer you question, yes we will force such parents to leave their children behind or take them back to their home country.

The short simple answer why illegal immigrants who give birth to a child in US territory should not be naturalized is that such a policy will incentivize illegal activity. A longer humanitarian answer is that every year thousands, probably tens of thousands of people undertake the trip North to illegally enter the US. Along the way a very high percent of those people fall victim to the elements, and human predators. Such a policy of naturalizing the parents of anchor babies is just baiting the trap.
Furthermore, those guilty of illegal immigration are far more likely to from unskilled, or lesser skilled occupational skills. Highly educated people and skilled tradesmen are far more likely to wait and enter the US legally. Disproportionate distribution puts unsupportable strain on state assistance programs.
Finally, part of immigration policy is to allow assimilation into US cultures and values. Communities can only absorb so much at a time. That type of thought goes into the calculations when immigration quotas are established. Europe has some of the most extreme examples where third world immigrants are able to establish enclaves so large that virtually no assimilation takes place for the vast majority living within the enclave, over multiple generations. Part of America's past success has been "the melting pot" and relatively high single generation assimilation, and virtually universal second generation assimilation.

Strain on state and fear of incentivizing illegal migration appears to be the constants in both US and India. In India, the recent mass migration of the Rohingyas has raised political debate and religious resentment. The Rohingyas are Muslims from neighboring Myanmar, which is similar to the migration you referenced in your response Maj John Bell Sir, I believe?

I may not have the intellectual capacity to carry on with your discussion here. As I have no clue what your talking about. I am rather ignorant to this situation as well. I can only comment on the title to the article that you posted. As we Americans are having to deal with this same issue today.
I once saw a Meme that said' "Sneaking into a Country doesn't make you an Immigrant, any more than breaking into a house makes you part of the family". I thought about that more, and I thought. If a couple were to break into my house "illegally", and have a baby on my kitchen floor. Is those in favor of illegal immigration or illegals having children in the US and calling them Americans, saying that I should recognize them as a Hutton?
Or just because a killer has been on the loose since 1947, living about the community and finally caught. That he should be exonerated because he has evaded being caught this long?
My point is, illegal is illegal. There is no substitution to the word and people should start recognizing that. No justification is necessary when determining and administering the correct course of actions. Specially from anyone who is in direct violation of a written law from any country. And I be damned that an illegal be allowed to vote or participate in any election or decisions made by a country. Hell, even the Home Owners Associations understands that. Ours won't allow anyone renting a house in our housing addition to attend the meetings. I believe that an illegal that has a baby in another country, that country should void any citizenship. Or be classified as an illegal citizen and no benefits of that country should be awarded to the child or parents. Until the child or parents later becomes a legal citizen of that country the legal way.

Why are we so quick to alienate children and treat them as illegal immigrants, when in actuality these kids never chose to enter another nation illegally; blame the parents and, not children who are ignorant, but don't separate children from their parents. It is a balancing act.

I would say the correct response to that is, because they technically still are illegal. But I do understand what you are saying. Just like I understand that if American kids are in a car with their parents when an officer pulls them over. The officer see's a brick of marijuana in plain view. The officer separates the kids from the parents. The parents are arrested and CPS is called to come pick up the kids. What's even more troubling about this situation. Is, in some states in the US they have actually legalized marijuana. Maybe not in bulk, but you get my point. Legal US kids are being ripped away from their parents everyday as well because of the stupid decisions parents.
Illegal immigrant parents who choose to bring their children with them, knowingly and intentionally endangers the safety of their kids and risks the separation with their child. It is a very tough ordeal to have to go through. To be separated from your family and loved ones specially your kids. Majority of us on this site can contest to that and will not argue. Just like each and every Service Members knows before signing up or re-enlisting. We are fully aware of the risks.

If I break into a home that is empty and settle there and the lawful owners come and call the police, I go to jail and my children go into custody. Did they break the law? No, but they also cannot benefit from my breaking the law.
