Why is there so much being made about Transgenders and bathrooms?

My point is: Why is there so much being made about this issue? Transgendered individuals have been using public restrooms long before it became "problem" recently. What are people afraid of? What has changed?

What has changed is this has become a pet cause of a lame duck President who is no longer afraid of backing niche causes for fear of not getting re-elected. Plus it's an election year and some folks are lobbying hard for the LGBT vote....

Nothing has changed. This is more PC crap that starts because someone got butthurt over something stupid and make a fuss about it. My personal opinion (which can be found in posts of EVERY social media) is that issues like this are simply distractions that politicians point at and go "oh, look!" and then hamstring us with a sneaky act or bill while our backs are turned and we are distracted by these other petty, illogical, pointless issues that have no real bearing on anything anywhere.
