I served just less than 18 years, forced to retire (medically). I was a member of both the Wounded Warrior regiment as well as Safe Harbor. (How purple.)<div><br></div><div>I suspect it is a bug in the code; my dates of service don't equal 20 years.</div><div><br></div><div>Nonetheless, I think this is an issue that RP's coders need to fix. There are thousands of men and women who have returned from combat with an injury that forced them to retire.</div><div><br></div><div>In no way denigrating the service or commitment of veterans who did not retire, I strongly feel that disallowing that status to servicemen and servicewomen reduces their commitment and sacrifice. Veterans who elected not to serve until statutory retirement did so of their own volition, or bad luck. Medical retirees largely had no intention of leaving the service when forced otherwise to do so. I, myself, would have stayed until 30.3</div><div><br></div><div>Please comment your thoughts. CPO Smith,<div><br></div><div>You can change your status to" Retired" on your Settings page (use the drop down menu at the top right corner of the screen). 2LT,
Thanks. This old Goat is an idiot. Sincere appreciation.

While I do not know if there was a malfunction in the system, aren't we all veterans, whether we retire or not? Cheers to you too, and I wish you the best.

Yes, SGT Sarah Maxwell - I just think that RallyPoint may be trying to draw a distinction between members who served for less than the official # of years for retirement (20 in many cases), and those who served for at least or more than that threshold. For example, I served for 5 years so I am a Veteran but not a Retiree, since I did not properly 'retire' from the military. In contrast, MCPO Michael Korman appears to have served 20+ years, so he is a Retiree.

You are a veteran as well as retired military. Don't let anyone else tell you differently.
