The Donald supports LTC and talked about making them national like a drivers license. Do you think this can happen?

I'd just assume NOT have a National drivers license, OR a National license to carry, and for the same reason. It's then far too easy for one administration to take away, in a blanket fashion, that which another administration enacted in a blanket fashion.
How about the Federal government protects our right to keep and bear arms, as it does our first Amendment rights, and our other civil liberties. Namely by enforcing the Constitution and prohibiting infringements on our inherent rights, by the States, or by the Federal government.

SSG Gerhard S. - I think it's harder to vote it out though. I'm not sure but standing laws seem to remain.

SSG Gerhard S. How dare you use COMON SENSE Sir!! If the Federal Government attempted to use that same level of common sense it would be brought to a screetching halt by the enlightening nature of the power unleashed.

PO3 Steven Sherrill - Be wary of anything the federal government does. We no longer really have a "voting" Congress. Years ago, there were conservatives and liberals in both parties. Each representative or senator voted for what his district needed. Now, however, we have only two voters: an arch-conservative group following its leadership, and a liberal democrat group following its leadership. Any national legislation can be voted up or down on the whim of one of the leaders. regardless of the will of the people in the states.

It's a matter for states to decide on. The Federal Government already granted citizens the right to bear arms.

MAJ Charles Blake - When talking about States Honoring other States RTC and comparing it to Drivers Licenses, one has to bring up simply passing through a state or changing residence. If you change residence to another state you have from 30 to 90 days to get a State DL. This requires providing paperwork, such as proof of residence, birth certificate, SS card and old license to the new state, as well as at least passing a vision test.

Rights are meant to be protected by the government. They were granted by an authority higher than government.

While I love the idea personally, I think it would be a Federal over reach and I would oppose it on principle.

Tennessee already honors all permits issued by any state unless you become a resident of TN. Same as for your DL. Unfortunately all other states do not recognize ours.
