Will I be ordered to go active if I don't ship to basic?

My dep contract says I'll be ordered to active duty if I don't show up to ship what's the chances of that? And can I be released if I only signed my first contract

1) Are you prepped and ready to show up and ship to Basic Training?
2) If you answer "yes" to #1, then why are you stressing about it?
3) Why are you asking about being released? Are you no longer wanting to be in the NG?
4) Use your real name. Seriously. I get it you're probably wanting to show tribute to the singer, but seriously you are getting into the military. Be a tad more professional. It's really hard to give guidance and mentorship to a Soldier that doesn't want to use their real name.

SSG Warren Swan - Screwed up in the head about their enlistment because they asked their buddies instead of the Recruiter. ARNG Access to the NG with the first contract........there is no DEP. They have a DEP like RSP structure but it is not the same thing.

From my understanding of the National Guard is you only swear in once. Here in Louisiana, whenever we swear in we’re officially apart of the Louisiana National Guard, and therefore there is no need to sign a second contract. We don’t even back to the MEPS to ship, you’re state pays for your travel to basic and AIT. As far as you feeling reluctant, I think that’s completely normal. You’re just having fear because you don’t know quite what to expect. But I’m sure you’re tougher than that. If you set a cycle now of quitting you’ll be surprised how that chain reaction will cause an unbalance in your life. Just set your mind to accomplish the goal, and finish strong.

1LT Kevin Chapman - It's that way for all States. She or He is not part of any DEP program. DEP is only for Active Army......possibly USAR as well though I am not sure of USAR.

1LT Kevin Chapman - The recent difference is now they assign the recruits to a RSP unit with other recruits until they are MOS trained then they get assigned to a real NG unit. However, you are correct, first contract is the enllistment to the National Guard and they Access with the first contract if they are NG. So OP is in the National Guard right now. May not have been told that by the Recruiter but it still works that way.

National Guard accesses with the first contract so the OP is in the National Guard. National Guard does not use the DEP, it uses the RSP "Recruit Sustainment Program". OP is already in a National Guard RSP unit with a 1SG and Company Commander with other recruits waiting for ship dates. After they get trained in their MOS, the National Guardsman leaves the RSP and joins a real National Guard Unit that deploys with trained Soldiers.
