So I know there was a Milper message out stating no online courses whatsoever will count towards any type of military Ed other then skill port . As far as military Ed goes I see people still doing some jko courses which they think maybe worth point still and will count towards military Ed . Is this true ? If some courses are still being counted does anyone have a list ? Thanks in advance . I'm just a little confused because last I checked nothing online counts for any hours but maybe some still do .

Depends on whether you want personal growth in addition to promotions. I took dozens of them while active, many had absolutely nothing to do with my specialty or leadership. some day you will leave the military and all that knowledge goes with you into the civilian job market.

Computer-based training (nonresident training). Maximum points: 80 for promotion to SGT; and 90 for promotion to SSG. Military correspondence courses and computer-based training provided through ATRRS Self-development or Army e-Learning (https://www.atrrs.army.mil). Soldiers will be granted promotion points based on one (1) point per 5 hours of completed Army Correspondence Course Program (ACCP) training - restricted to courses completed in their entirety. This is straight from the updated regulation dated DEC 18 2015. Active duty and Reserves use the same point system. The only difference is Reserve Soldiers have to wait for an appropriate slot to get promoted into whereas an active duty Soldier needs to meet a specific cutoff score.

If you're in the reserve components be sure and verify with your command as these points can also go toward retirement points in some cases. Well worth it even if you can't use them for promotions to use for retirement. Wether you're lacking a good year needing points to change that or trying to rack up additional retirement points it can mean some substantial $ later on!

Right I mean it's dated back from 2013 so not sure if it's valid anymore
