I have been interested in dropping a packet to attend SFAS however my platoon sergeant just returned and he said he was a psych drop due to behavior health history. I’m not sure if that’s a cover story or something and I’m also not sure the details on his behavior health history. I had some alcohol problems when I was 20 and went to behavioral health for it. I’m curious how much that would hinder my shot if at all

Never know until you try. Submit the packet and see what happens

Best advice would be to drop your packet and go do the best you can. If you get dropped for it, at least you attempted it at all.

Will prior alcohol problems and having gone to behavioral health when I was 20 hinder my shot at SFAS?

Point. Blank. PERIOD. YOU ARE NOT HIM. Drop the packet and see for yourself. Dont be a turd, 80, sitting on your porch wondering "what if"?

They look at a holistic view of you. You also get to sit down and explain yourself to a psychologist. So just go you’ll be able to explain yourself.
