Will "Russia" Gobble "Turkey" in recent plane attack ... Will Article 5 Apply? Your Opinion?
This principle is enshrined in Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty, which states that an attack on one Ally shall be considered an attack on all Allies.
NATO invoked Article 5 of the Washington Treaty for the first time in its history following the 9/11 terrorist attacks against the United States.
The principle of collective defense has also been raised in the context of Russia’s military aggression against Ukraine. Russia’s actions have raised justified concerns among its neighbors, including those who are NATO members. That is why NATO Foreign Ministers, on 1 April, directed Allied military authorities to develop extra measures to strengthen collective defense.

My opinion is to leave Russia alone. That's one bear we don't want to wake before early hibernation.

I see a lot of Posturing and Chest Thumping but I don't see anything coming of it. Business is Key in Modern Russia and retribution attack against Turkey would not be good business.

If they want WWIII, they'll attack Turkey. I think Turkey would give them all they could handle, even alone.

The Russian warplane was 'stuffed' by Turkey, but I think Putin will down some wodka and take his 'pound of flesh' from Turkey's 'giblets'. I don't see this 'family dinner' ending well...

I was surprised that NATO's Article 5 wasn't part of France's call for help. Guess I'm not sure what the hell NATO does while the US is asleep at the helm.
