Different only in degree from the past. Give an example of someone pulled from the 'common' people to be a cabinet member in past administrations. The only bitch is that Trump did not pull his cabinet together from the feeding trough of permanent government sycophants.

They're all businessmen/women of one sort or another. Therefore, they absolutely relate to the economy, and fixing that will have greater effect on the average citizen than nearly anything else they do.

Remember the phrase, "It's the Economy, Stupid!" used by Democrats against George Bush? Same thing now. Fix the economy, everything else falls in line. At the end of the day, what you can afford wins out over Idealism.

Will the middle class and poor have a say in the richest cabinet in U.S. history? Can the $4 Billion cabinet relate to the average citizen?

I think we are a lot better off with a cabinet full of people who have actually accomplished impressive things, rather than people or much more modest life experience.

If only they were humble multi-millionaires of the people, like previous cabinets. Then the common man would be better represented.

If you look at Obama's choice for the cabinet position of Commerce Secretery it was Penny Sue Pritzker (born May 2, 1959) who is an American "billionaire" businesswoman, entrepreneur and civic leader who is currently serving as the 38th United States Secretary of Commerce. She is the founder of PSP Capital Partners and Pritzker Realty Group.

I think it is obvious that none of the elected officials in Washington DC can relate to the average citizen.

The main reason I voted for Trump is because the current government doesn't have a clue what John or Jane Q Citizen's wants or needs! Anything different than what has been going on would be a good thing IMO

the good news is that the new cabinet isnt from washington Dc. They are almost all outsiders who built their own success stories.

62 + million said let's give more tax breaks to the rich. So they are OK with the rich ruling us!
Electoral college voted and it final.
Doesn't mean we don't have to agree with it.
I can disagree with it, and is my right to do so, just like it is the right of others to disagree.

Cpl Joshua Caldwell - problem is those who are rich use the backs of "successful" then find was to take from them if their business falters. Like taking money from their pensions to pad their own pockets when they fail. Then complain the people they just screwed need assistance to survive.

MSgt Michael Bischoff The author of that article conveniently left out the reason the casino went under. I know this story well, my old roommate is a cop just up the street. The unions tried to hit the casino up for more money that the net operating income could sustain. It was union greed that shut the place and killed off the jobs that trump created in the first place. It is hard to fault the guy when those jobs would never have existed if he wasnt there. also lost in the article, probably because the author didnt understand it was the idea that you finance deals like this with the best financing possible. High interest rates are a market driven factor, not something that the business owner just creates. given that environment, Trump was able to employ thousands for more than 3 decades. further more the Trump casino did a lot to help the birth of AC as a gambling mecca. The entire town is now going down mostly because the my state of PA started legal gambling about 12 years ago. The author also missed that massive shift in what had been a captive market. At time of construction AC was the only legal gambling west of Vegas, and a big draw for much of the east coast. Amazing what leaving a few relevant facts will do to a story, if a story is all you are looking to write.

MSgt Michael Bischoff - Its not like we never saw "leaders" in the military who claimed responsibility for all the accomplishment of their troops. In the military the BS meter would generally weed these guys out. Unfortunately in the civilian sector the BS meter hardly exists, if it exists at all. The measure of success in the civilian world is how rich an individual becomes and more often than not they've accomplished that by taking credit for the accomplishment of others. This type of "rich" businessman has no place in a cabinet position, but seems as if many being selected are that type.

Not sure that any cabinet in my memory related to the middle class and poor. It's obvious that the new cabinet will be tremendously business oriented but how that will relate to the average US citizen remains to be seen. Cross your fingers, time will tell!

This is a great question. None of them have ever lived without or been at the bottom. they don't relate anymore than the working poor or any other class can relate to them. That said, we need those in power with power. Money buys power. As many buy elections, they must still meet the press, unless they think they don't have to. The PR battle and those that actually guard our freedom have been dismissed and that is the first sign that governing America has reached a new low. I'm not hopeful. And I'm a Republican for those who foolishly dismiss us as "libtards".

I personally would turn down the request to serve in Trump's cabinet. If you are saying that a store manager from Wal-Mart knows more about the economy than Wilbur Ross, chairman of WL Ross & Co., who has made a career of resurrecting dying companies then you are mistaken sergeant. If you look at Obama's choice for the same cabinet position it was Penny Sue Pritzker (born May 2, 1959) who is an American "billionaire" businesswoman, entrepreneur and civic leader who is currently serving as the 38th United States Secretary of Commerce. She is the founder of PSP Capital Partners and Pritzker Realty Group. So there weren't any shop keepers and farmers in Obama's cabinet either. if you surround yourself with successful people you will be successful. Obama is the only person at this time that I can think of that can refute this claim in most every sector of his cabinet.

Obama had good people around him. He just refused to listen and/or heed their advice. He relied on sycophants and Muslim sympathizers.
