They (the DA) need to authorize it for all personnel to roll sleeves or not. It stops being "uniform" when there are 100 different ways to wear it.

I stopped rolling my sleeves of the BDUs the last two or three years we wore those. I don't see why anyone even wants to do it with these, they're not made for it and they look like hell when someone tries it.

What leaders should be unhappy about is all the velcro that should have been phased out

Go back to the Uniform in the 80’s. Around 1985. When I was in. It was a good uniform.

Even the dress green uniform was better when I was in. See my pic

Blew my right knee out in 1986 at NTC. CAlifornia. Was done after that. I enjoyed 1st Cav and the Army. I had a lot of fun.

We went through this silliness when the BDU's came out. Keep the sleeves down.

Maybe because it looks awful and nobody ever rolls them correctly?

You'll never do something correctly, if you are never allowed to do it in the first place.

SSG (Join to see) - True, though probably should have thought to actually train people how to do it. It's pretty bad when Civil Air Patrol cadets roll better sleeves than most of the one's I've seen at Hood do it. But thankfully, not many bother anyway or aren't authorized to.

Velcroed pockets? Anyone been in the woods at night and tried to get something out of a pocket quietly? The sound of ripping Velcro travels a LONG way at night..

It's alright, it was decided about 10 years ago that we don't fight in the woods anymore and everyone knows you can't hear hook-and-loop fasteners in the desert ;)

Here's a thought.....go back to the green fatigues for work, & use the camo for the field. Does a supply guy in garrison need to be camouflaged? Or, better yet, bring back the Khaki uniform.

Never liked rolling the sleeves on the BDUs or ACUs. Took too long to get the right length.

Rolled sleeves were a pain but I always liked the look in the BDU. Once you got the hang of it it wasn't that bad
