With so many Chinese military personnel, if they invaded our west coast, could we stop them?

Surely You jest... have you forgotten a lesson from WW II History...
"..."... Fleet Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto -
“You cannot invade the mainland United States. There would be a rifle behind each blade of grass.”

PO3 Bob McCord - Well, he had one other advantage that would no longer apply. He was able to get within 300? miles of Hawaii without being caught. I suppose that also put a limitation on how much ordinance his planes could carry and how much time they could spend over the target.

LTC Jason Mackay - They'd have bigger problems than land-based aircraft long before they got within range of them. Those bird farms aren't just for looks.

SN Greg Wright - I was talking about the air cover of their largely land based aircraft.

LTC Jason Mackay - Oops, you're right, I misread, Colonel. I thought you were saying they'd have problems with our land-based aircraft. I plead age, and the lateness of the hour!

SN Greg Wright - no worries. We'll have stacks of tactical and strategic aircraft on them all the way across. In that, you are right.

We will build a great big wall. It will be a beautiful wall with a few doors, and China will pay for it.

LT Geoffrey Lander - I'll bow to your expertise, LT, but doesn't a single DDG have something like 30? Not to mention Harpoons?

SSgt Terry P. - They can have western Washington. Just need to stop them at the Cascades. Id. border is a little to close for me.

Reminds me of the private at the Chosen Reservoir who asked, "Gunny, how many hordes in a Chinese platoon?". Speaking of which, it would be about the same 10 to 1 ratio from DEC 1951 and the same 1st MARDIV with Marine Air and a target rich environment.

Reminds me of a quote I heard decades ago
"How do you stop a thousand men who don't care if they live or die?"
"With a hundred who do"

I think the thing that gets most overlooked about the potential for a Chinese invasion is that they don't have anywhere near the transportation assets needed to actually be a real, credible threat. Sure, they could make life unpleasant for a pretty good while, but the chances of them actually succeeding in such a venture are slim to none.

I'll say what they used to tell us during the Cold War stationed in Germany. The Russian Forces out numbered us something like 7 to 1 but we have technical, tactical and oh yes superior training and leadership! Hope its all true!!

Me too. Russian soldiers are well fed and have all the toilet paper they need. This is strong motivation in a country whose economy leaves a large percentage of the population hungry with poop on their hands. Of course less food to eat does reduce the demands on the toilet paper supply.

Isn't military service in China mandatory? I wouldn't worry so much about people who are forced to fight when we have an all volunteer military filled with people who want to fight. It might look intimidating at first because of their sheer numbers, but when rounds start flying and bodies start dropping, they won't trust their size to protect them anymore. It'll be preservation of self that kicks in and they will scatter and try to flee.

How are the idiots going to flee from troop ships carrying 10000 drowning soldiers and crew,at a wack.. Nobody will ever try it.. Why do you think the commies are willing to go bareback with the progressives...turds of a feather.

Since they would have to cross the Pacific, it would be almost impossible to storm our beaches without losing over half to Davy Jones locker.

Don't sell us so short.. I assure you we would put every one of them in the drink and probably wouldn't be able to curb our enthusiasm till every embarkation port looked like a tsunami would have been a blessing by comparison..

We'd need all the M60's and M2's the entire military has to take them out.

PO3 John Wagner - true, but it would be nice to sling a little lead at them, before turning the rest into crispy critters.

SGT David A. 'Cowboy' Groth - You are, within a couple, years,of my age.. Yougrew up,fearing death from above and in no way ready to believe that the Russians learned their lessons from failed, communism. As,an active duty member you also were directly affected, and involved in fighting their aggressions. No surprise there..
Slinging lead at enemies,is,only a natural desire.
We took untold losses and abuse fighting the communists. We would have been fighting much closer to home soon. The reason democrats want open border is that no invasion or attack from any superpower military force from overseas, can possibly succeed.

PO3 John Wagner - importing an army of poverty victims, from, south of the border which by its nature creates, chaos. And bringing in terrorists allows, them to create a,human shield of citizens and requires, extreme collateral damage within the, country.

SGT David A. 'Cowboy' Groth - Typical Army mentality. Every combat soldier has visions of seeing their enemies intestines strung out for 50 ft from a particularly painful belly wound, as well as dead burnt bodies and veins in their teeth.. "And we were jumping up and down screaming Kill! Kill! Kill!" Then the Sergeant came over and pinned a medal on my chest and said "Your our man!" Lol
