With the way the world is established this day in age, do you feel we are interrupting the course nature intended for us as a species?

Everything we do is adaptation as a species. As we grow in population, the more conflict we will experience. Think of Earth as an island. Paupau New Guinea. We will war over food when supplies dwindle and some will migrate off the island. harmony and balance will be restored as the Earth can only sustain so many people and other living beings. The dinosaurs were wiped out by a cataclysmic event. Hopefully we won't create our own before we have a chance to evolve a greater intelligence. It all starts at home.

Thinking about what a greater intelligence entails always ends up giving me headaches. What more could there be that we don't know yet? What science will we discover that changes the way we think and perceive things today? So many questions with so few answers. Guess we'll just wait and find out.

Leave it to Col Rebecca Lorraine to make a thoughtful sober response to that question which is much too deep for me. Thank you Ma'am.

Nature is constantly experimenting with now ways of doing things, some adaptations are unsuccessful and others are wildly successful. Dinosaurs ruled the planet for about 170 million years, human like beings have been around for less than 3 million years. It remains to be seen if we will wipe ourselves out, or if we will move beyond this planet to begin colonizing other worlds. I'm really hoping for the later instead of the former, however I'm not sure human greed and arrogance is something we can overcome.

It would be nice to see..a colony either on the moon or on mars...last article I read on the topic is predicting colonization by 2030...

MAJ (Join to see) - I'd like to see that as well, however what I'd really like to see is the discovery of planets capable of sustaining human life. I like to believe that a science fiction like Star Trek is actually possible at some distant point in the future.

SSG (Join to see) - That would be awesome, and maybe bring the nations together under a common goal...that would be a hoot or what...

Ever see a stupid person get sent to the hospital and survive something that would have killed them in the wild and then was allowed to have children?
