So, RP members, where is the worse place the military has made you live, and why? I am not talking about combat environments, I am talking about garrison, be it barracks, housing, or temporary lodging? If you have pictures, feel free to post.

Actually I never did live in any place that was bad. I guess its a matter of perspective. A good roof and a bed. Might as well have been staying in a hotel. LOL. Only tenuous part might have been combat. But Ranger training made that acceptable as well. :) I expected difficult when I enlisted in the Army.

The old WW-II barracks at Ft Leonard Wood and Chanute AFB.
Or maybe the barracks in Japan that was so bad I could lay in bed and watch folks going to or coming from the base theater though the gap in the sheet metal outside wall.
Still enjoyed my time at the places, just bad barracks.

The best place to be stationed is the place you just left and the place you’re going!

Fort Polk, LA 71459
80-82
Hot, humid, Roaches the size of small pets (maybe a lil exaggeration)
No where to go to besides Leesville or Alexandria (45 miles away)

Never served anywhere that the housing or services was bad. And only one place where the duty was bad. North Point

I don't know if it is still there, but Fort McCoy Wisconsin. PX, bowling alley and club all in the same building.

In my military career the best place to be stationed, according to most soldiers, was their last and next assignment.
