I would definitely say yes because I was a unit supply 92y and honestly, other than being comfortable in a warehouse or maintenance shop, etc... The army supply system is unique to the army and you won't see it in tnt civilian world at all. Obviously army teaches you a bunch a great qualities but as far as supply, unless it's with a major shipping or oil company that has a very govt like way of doing things, you aren't going to see anything similar to how 92y work was in the army. Colleges, local govt career centers, major universities, etc... they all have specific career counselors with their own office usually and it's a very specific position. It doesn't matter what type of career you learn how to counsel people on, I'd imagine in general being a career counselor for the army or a major university would be pretty dang similar. I would get out of supply. It's Ajit anyways and hadn't done a single thing for me in tnt civilian world other than helped me keep my workshop super organised, inventory on point and ordering. I impress people with it but it's not helped me earn money at all. Reclassify to 79s asap. Or really reclassify to any other MOS that you can find the same exact job in there civilian world. Military x-ray tech, nurse, physical therapy assistant, various mechanic, IT, radar tech, and mmuch much more, especially medical, are great military occupations that easily carry into civilian sector. I know for a fact that you can take your army xray tech degree from AIT and it's pretty much good in civilian world, you just have to take a civilian test but don't have to go to school. It's free medical school from the army but it's rare for recruiters to actually help you get a job that truly benefits you and your civilian future. They have certain jobs their superior or even higher tell them they are required to fill. Recruiters hate when a potential recruit comes in the office and had already researched and chosen 3 jobs they wnt to pick from and totally refuse anything else. Unfortunately I was naive and had no guidance. I was told only 3 jobs were available, no exceptions. Take it or leave it. It was 92y supply specialist, 13b I think, which was infantry truck driver and another bullshit infantryman shit job. So I took the supply and it ended up being not bad. It was incredibly laid back and was fortunate to have really cool superiors who as long as we got our shit done, we could do whateve. I became supply driver before spending 3 years at JBB (balad Iraq) so things were much more exciting for me by the time I got there but still incredibly laid back. If I ever ended up getting papers for, let's say, one of the shit holes in Germany or Korea, with asshole bosses, I wouldn't know how to react after being so spoiled for 6 years. Sorry I ramble.... You definitely need to reclassify to at least career counselor or even better, an mos with a certificate that you can use in civilian sector. It's free college, qualifying for that MOS I guess would be the biggest obstacle. Medical jobs require higher test scores and I assume you'd be able to retake the ASvAB or similar. Not sure how it works when doing a major mos reclassify
