F16s are still on the assembly lines and so should the F-18s since they are designed as fighters and not as stealth platforms like the F-35. When 8000 hours come to them, they should keep them for parts or use them as drones and destroy them like the venerable F4 phantoms. 4500 are built so far and many more to follow.

Both the Army times and decaying papers yesterday said that it's official they are going to go with 18 super Hornets building a pricey I'm sure they'll get them in the next 9 months instead of waiting forever and not knowing what the price is actually going to be. To me it's like trying to buy a Rolls-Royce or Bentley Turbo that can handle very well compared to a Dodge Hellcat or a Porsche Carrera 4 that can for a lot less money. It's like people who invented these plane designs are the same ones who invented our army ACU that didn't really fit into anything
