So I want to know from experience people on how hard would it be for an 11C to switch to the Air Force? I know my MOS isn’t equal to anything in the Air Force and I know I will have to re take the ASVAB but from what I’ve been reading that it’s pretty hard for prior service people to get in. I just want to know if anybody from the army infantry world crossed over to the Air Force and how did it work out, what’s steps should I take and what sites should I use to up my asvab?

Knowledge and skills-wise, it's not that difficult. You'll have to go to Tech School at Lackland, which will cover law enforcement, security (mainly flight line), and air base defense (grunt work). As far as your Army MOS? Both the 820 Base Defense Group at Moody AFB, GA, and the 204 SF Squadron (ANG) at Ft Bliss, TX use 81mm mortars. I believe that the 820th (or part of it) is also airborne qualified, and is likely to be highly competitive to get assigned there.

That's ok Capt Gregory Prickett, the Army's been flying since Orville & Wilbur Wright!
:-)
On a serious note, I guess that's not too surprising, but is interesting, and proof you learn something new every day.

Good luck, I did it, but i didn't like it so i came back to the army, but you can do a lot of things as a security forces, their deployments are 6 months. for me going from 11B to 3P031 (air force afsc for security forces) afsc is MOS in the air force), it was a big culture shock and i never got adjusted to it, but highly recommend it.
