"If the F-35s don't go to Vermont, the F-16s will eventually age out, and it's highly likely that Vermont will no longer have a flying mission for its Guard," Wilson said.

That is sad for Vermont. It’s very interesting to me how the Air Guard is spread out. California has 5 Air Guard wings (4 flying) while many states have none. It seems to me the Air Force could do a better job of spreading this out.

I would love to see NCOs flying Super Tocanos for close air support and open flight school up to older soldiers and airmen for that role.
