First let me thank you for taking the time to answer our questions. The greatest honor is serving our country. And I thank you for your service.

My question is.
Why do Republicans in the House and Senate refuse to listen to their conservative constituents. I would think the primary race would open the ears of politicians of the dissatisfaction of those they repersent. I understand you can not please everyone but there appears to be a blatant refusal to listen to the reasonable thinking of the people. By ignoring us you just increase our frustration and dissatisfaction in our leaders we have elected. The main goal should be always to maintain the greatness of this country. To protect and maintain the freedoms given to us by our forefathers and those who have shed their blood in defending it! But I have to be honest! There is a great disservice when those who have been elected to serve forget those individuals they are serving. Those same people that got them to where they are at! Personally I was never a Trump supporter but I understand the following he has garnered. It is time that the voices be heard and our leaders listen!

Again thank you for your time sir and best wishes.

This forum format does not lend itself to being easy to follow. Did the senator even read any of this? Did he post here?

Good question. I talk a lot about important life lessons in my memoir. In leading the Senate, much like any other endeavor, tenacity and hard work are the keys to success. This was a lesson I learned early in life when I contracted polio at the age of two. We lived in a small community in Alabama. My father was overseas fighting in Europe. My mother was left home along with a child with a serious health problem. The issue she confronted was whether I would be able to walk without a brace because the polio had affected my left leg. It was good fortune that we were within an hour's drive of Warm Springs, Georgia, where FDR had established a polio treatment center. The nurses their taught my mother a physical therapy regimen and told her to administer it four times a day and to keep me from walking prematurely, fearing that would inhibit my recovery. She did that for two full years, watching me every waking moment to make sure I didn't wake prematurely. My first memory inline was say last visit to Warm Springs, when they told my mother I would be able to walk without a brace and have a normal childhood. I tell this story to underscore that we all have challenges in our lives, but with hard work and tenacity, and by refusing to give up, we can almost always reach our goals. That's what my mom did, and I'm very grateful for that.

If you don't like Judge Garland, why not give him a hearing and vote no?

LTC (Join to see) - Maj, I don't think that comment was directed at you, it was directed at the Senator's "convenient" memory. I could be wrong, but that's the way I read it.

Mitch McConnell - You said that "It's been 80 years since a vacancy under these circumstances has been filled by the Senate", which means there is precedent. What reason do you have for bucking precedent, and refusing to fulfill your obligations at this time? There is nothing preventing you from voting "no", after all, but refusing to even vote is dereliction of the duty for which you (and every other representative) was elected. We elected you to vote in our stead, to be our voice. If you refuse to do that, why are you in D.C. in the first place?

Senator,
We appreciate you coming out and braving the flames of passion, because that is what you are going to find here.

I'm not big on casting blame but we've reached a point where picking sides is like choosing between Coke and Pepsi. It's the "Illusion of Choice."

It's great to believe that a specific Party's "platter of goods" is going to align with an individual, but it's far more likely that we're going to both agree and disagree on various issues. By selecting your party I have to give up other key issues. By selecting the other party the same thing happens. The dichotomy is too great.

Why should "I" as a Citizen support the Two Party System at all? Let alone either side of it, which just means I am going to deal with giving up one "set of Rights" depending on who is in Power?

MSG (Join to see) I can answer that. Because it is not part of the constitution, but I think we are long overdue for a constitutional amendment for that.

Why was it impossible for both the House and Senate to pass "Kate's Law"? I understand anything illegal immigrant is a third rail nowadays. I suspect the politics of another veto. When will we start making legitimate immigration reform?

I will throw this in, although I know I am casting my pearls as well. BOTH parties have tried to pork out bills. However the Democrats have tried to tack on more unrelated amendments to military/veteran related bills than the Republicans, they have both done it. It's easy to look all this up.

Senator Mitch McConnell, are you concerned that Mr. Trump may be a loose cannon who could hurt other Republicans running this fall? Could his candidacy and his comments be bad for Republicans overall this year? Cost us the White House? Majorities in Congress?

I am concerned about Donald Trump's attacks on the ethnicity of Americans, and his continuing efforts to settle scores with people with whom he's competed. It's time for him to pivot and start acting more like a presidential candidate, reaching out to Americans of all backgrounds; because if he's elected president, he'll be president of all the people. I believe the Senate and House Republican majorities will not be affected by the decision the American people make in the presidential race. Thanks for asking, and thank you for your service.

Mitch McConnell - Do think its too late for him to mend bridges with those he's attacked? Can Mexican Americans or Muslim-Americans ever see Donald Trump as supporting rather than attacking them?
