We keep hearing that the VA is getting fixed, but hear the horror stories from fellow servicemembers or news stories of Vets dying while waiting. Why is it taking so long and why do retirees not have a better pension plan something similar to that of the congress? Thank you for your time.

Why does our political system not work for "We The People", as clearly displayed over decades of misappropriation of $$ from programs designed to ensure our well being in years to come ?

Senator, you've probably heard it all during your career and I can't imagine asking anything new, except, why is it so difficult to understand the public's perception of Congress and for Congress to act in the public's interest - truly in the public's interest? Bickering and fighting between political parties, having personal agendas, are NOT in the public interest.

I agree and so do many Americans, isn't it about time that the Senators and Congressmen/women have term limits? The President had term limits because the fear of too much power, well isn't that the case in Congress right now. And we need either term limits or an age limit for those on the Supreme Court.
I am and have always been a Republican but at this time, I don't believe that either party is really for the people, at lease not the American people.
Congress wants to cut military families benefits while increasing their own. Does that seem right?
You in Government have to start doing what the American People want, .

If Mitch McConnell thinks 32 years in the Senate is "The Long Game" he is sadly mistaken. I served 21 years in the military and 21 years in DOD (mostly with the Army in Germany) and was a foot soldier in the GOP in 63-64 for that presidential campaign as well. Read Senator Goldwater's acceptance speech at the Cow Palace in San Francisco, and absolutely nothing has changed since then... the social progressive democrats have destroyed the fabric of our country starting with the rape of social security by Lyndon Johnson in order to fund Vietnam AND his welfare giveaway entitlement programs. This is most likely the defining moment in electoral politics for the United States, and will determine if we survive or not. If he wants to to be remembered as a horses's ass he will do nothing. If he wants to be remembered as part of the team that protected our national heritage, Original Intent, he will define the fight for nominations to the Supreme Court and the Federal Judiciary based on the litmus test decided in the pages of National Review and the Puget Sound Law Review concerning Original Intent and the refusal to approve Judge Bork. The first step is to set up a superPAC (Writ of Mandamus.org) to fund the attack on the Obama Justice Department to force the indictment and prosecution of Hilary Clinton. It is time to forge a new "Contract with America" to overturn and remove social progressive political victories, and to stop uncontrolled governement spending. For 19 trillion dollars what have we gotten in return?

Why haven't you or any of your colleagues honored the oath of office you swore to when you took office and protected the Constitution from being trashed by the sitting President? If it were up to me, I would impeach every one of you who allowed thiss to take place.

Do you support the American Heroes COLA Act and the three following changes 1. Give veterans who have a service connected disability a 25% pay raise. 2. Give veterans who have a service connected disability rating of 60% or more Quality Of life payments using the disability scale making payment proportional to the veteran's disability rating. Allow for back pay 3 yrs for 100% or less and 5 yrs for permanent and total disability. 3. Allow veterans who have a service connected disability rating of 100% or permanent and total disabled that not receiving military retirement to receive the Maximum VA pension payments. Allowing for back pay three years for 100% and five years for permanent and total disability?

After the death of Ambassador Stevens, why didn't we send a massive force in to Libya? A foreign power killed an American Ambassador, seams like a declaration of war to me.

If you don't believe ISIS is a foreign power, we'll just have to agree to disagree. They may not fit the antiquated definition of a national government but, they are a foreign government.
Besides, the U.S. hasn't declared war on anyone since World War II but, we still go into other countries and fight (and die) when it we think we can benefit (or profit) from doing so.

Oh, but we have declared war on another country. The invasion of Granada was a military incursion on a sovereign nation: war.

LCDR Harding Harrison - The United States and the Caribbean Peace Force (Barbados, Jamaica, and The Organization of Eastern Caribbean States) invaded Granada on 25 October 1983, without a formal declaration of war by the United States Congress. In fact, many members of congress didn't know about the invasion until it was broadcast on the afternoon news. The last time the Congress of the United States formally voted to declared war was in 1942 when we declared war against Bulgaria, Hungary, and Romania. Congress has voted to approve "President's call to arms" several times since then. Currently, there is no "President's call to arms" or any other type of declaration of war to fight anywhere in the world except the "Authorization to Use Military Force" (AUMF) granted to President Bush, signed by President Bush on 18 September 2001. Public Law 107-40 Joint Resolution granted the President to "use United States Armed Forces against those responsible for the recent attacks launched against the United States". President Obama is still using that authority to send troops to where ever he wants to fight who ever he wants. Congress hasn't the courage to declare war and they don't have the courage to repeal Public Law 107-40.

Public Law 107-40 was a total knee-jerk reaction without sufficient vetting or support processes to prove need. The use of it by BO is disgraceful. In 1982 I was assigned to Rapid Deployment Force Bravo (Medical) and we were all wondering about our future when the Beirut bombing went down with Grenada invaded 2 days later. My Marine Corps "running mate" in the RDF was an infantry captain. We about had to sedate him when the bombing happened. We wound up in Beeville, awaiting further assignment. After 16 days, we all went home. Semper Fi.

Why are you granted the right to any posts or forum here, when you are part of the problem people cutting pay and retirement? Trying to force my healthcare pay to be bought on the exchange would cost me my retirement. You didn't stand up for Americans for the last 7 1/2 years so why should we Veterans and Active Duty lend you our time now?
