Why does the Senator still believe that Medicare and Social Security are contributing to the deficit? If this is the case why does congress and the Senate continue to "borrow" money from the Social Security trust fund? ( debt owed is now over a trillion dollars). We want our money back.

Mitch McConnell - What are your views about increasingly expensive medical drugs and treatments - with drug companies now charging as much as $30,000 per dose and considering charging as much as $1,000,000 per treatment - and suggesting patients should mortgage their lifelong income to receive a single dose of a drug or a single treatment - how do you control these medical costs? Warmest Regards, Sandy

I read through a few pages of questions, not a single response from "Senator Mitch". I'm guessing he a) cannot answer a single question honestly or b) is a troll

TSgt Hunter Logan - I won't be holding my breath for any honest answers from a politician that won't even support the party values that elected him.

Yes, Senator. In light of this recent report “We concluded that the USCIS Field Office Director Martin at the San Bernardino office improperly delayed HSI agents from conducting a lawful and routine law enforcement action…” the report said. “We have also concluded that the Field Office Director was not candid with OIG investigators during her interview,” why hasn't Ms. Martin been indicted for obstructing a federal criminal investigation and perjury?

Thanks for taking the time. My question is with minimum increases in military wages and with the civilian/military pay gap growing larger for work we do; would you even propose, sponsor, or consider a special income tax bracket for military members active/reserve/national guard. We are losing any ground we had compared to the civilian markets we are being forced to for everyday living. All of our advantages (exchanges, health care, retirement, BAH, etc) are being nickel and dimed at a slow but increasing rate, while pay has only went up at the slowest historical rates (2011-1.4%, 2102-1.6%, 2013-1.7%,2014-1%,2015-1.3%,2016-1.3%, and 2017 is projected at 1.6%).
I think a special tax rate for anyone serving active duty under 8 years should be a 6%, while anyone from 9-20 years should be 8%, and 21-40 should be capped at 12% at the federal level.
We hold an important job that possess a unique skill set that only employees a total of 1.4 million to include the Coast Guard(active), while maintaining rough 800,000 in the COMPO 2 and 3 forces.

So Senator McConnell, would you support a special tax rate for Military Personnel?

Read the facts and look at the chart attached, it will show a history of very low raises for the last few years. We're a service that is coming out of the nation's longest historical wars, which will breed more veteran mental health issues that has lead to more suicides and homelessness since post WW1 numbers (we're better at collecting data now).
Military pay is one issue that can be fixed easily to retain more top talent and assist people with the ever rising cost of expense we're having to pay for things that use to be included. Please vote this up because I want it to be at the forefront of this blog to grab his attention.
Read this quick briefing paper.

McConnell is one of the leaders of the leaders that are "nickel and dimeing" the military, he is no friend of the military.

He's here, so I hope the community can focus their efforts on suggestive issues and not complaints or criticisms of what the Washington pic is or the culture that has been infested. Just wish to take care of the combatants like "they" take care of themselves.

Even though I thought he assisted with targeted raises and a 4.8% raise for military in the late 90's like 97-99, when I was coming in.

My only question is when, exactly, you decided that the Constitution no longer applied to you?

The President, with the advice and consent of the Senate appoints Justices. Why did you REFISE to advise, let alone consent to ANY Justice.

That is a CLEAR violation of your Constitutional responsibility.

Why can't the Republicans in Congress make decisions which are good for the country as a whole. Cut a deal with 2 or 3 Democrats and you won't have to worry about appeasing the likes of Rand Paul.
