America now faces a momentous decision. Almost a decade of irresponsible defense cuts has slashed the number of combat personnel, seriously degraded their combat readiness, and shrunk the size of our military below any reasonable standard. If America continues to lead from behind, we will lose the ability to guarantee our safety at home and abroad.
Our all-volunteer force deserves better. They deserve a leader who will provide them with the finest weapons systems and the best training. They deserve the full and unapologetic support of their Commander-in-Chief, not a minimal commitment and overly restrictive Rules of Engagement.
Furthermore, Americans make up the finest military professionals and veterans in the world, and they deserve an investment in their careers, their health, and their families. We must honor of our military members, families, and veterans by ensuring they receive the respect and care they have earned.
Under focused, new leadership, America can, and will, rebuild our military and take care of our veterans.

Sen Cruz, Thank You for what you have done in standing up for the Constitution and bringing it into the forefront. We have heard a lot from the other candidates as well as yourself about taking care of the veterans but I never hear anything about taking care of the retired veterans, they have been suffering slowly through ever increasing attacks on their benefits and higher payments for health care which was relatively free 15 years back as well as very high survivor benefit payment plan and very little if any Cost of living adjustment to the pension while our active duty brethren are getting a pay increase nearly every year. Imagine if congress was under the same compensation plan as we retirees have, it would not be too long before the congress would vote themselves a new pension plan. I am not insinuating that we should have the same retirement compensation as our congressional leaders but something that would reduce the financial burden of an old retiree who can't get a meaningful full time job that pays well.

mr cruz how are you qualified to make command decisions when you have no military bearing ? do you believe commanders should take point and lead men and if so should you meet minimum standards for brm and aprt ? in short would you stand being weighed and measured by a drill sgt ?

None of the remaining candidates, to my knowledge, have ever worn a uniform. Soooo they must depend upon the selection of cabinet secretaries to be solid advisers. Who do you think would choose the best cabinet?

Sen. Cruz, I recommend you read 'War is a racket" by Majgen seedless butler before you become commander in chief. Attending an Arlington national funeral in person for one of our Heroes would also let you see what responsibility you are assuming. godspeed

What specifically would you do to address the veterans problem in america with health care.. While some of the candidates on the democratic party seem to believe they its either ok or that they have dealt with some of the problems by saying you can go to a doctor near you if you leave over 40 miles.. While that is a lie, in that it doesnt matter if the clinice that is within 40 miles doesnt offer the service such as physical therapy they make you drive to where it offered and that sometimes is a 100 miles.. So what would you do to address it.. I would additionally add the doctors and nurses are not bad, but the administration is terrible. They dont call you back, 80 percent of the time you cant get a live voice just a recording where they never respond
