Henry David Thoreau writes that “All men recognize the right of revolution; that is, the right to refuse allegiance to, and to resist, the government, when its tyranny or its inefficiency are great and unendurable”. This may be a fact, but what is not a fact is that all men (and women) do not recognize, or at least agree, on when it becomes a necessity to revolt or conduct revolution. Although we may have differing ideas, I believe that we have already been given an exact measurement as to what constitutes an act of revolution against the American government.
In present day America, citizens riot and protest in the streets for any number of reasons. As of the announcement that Donald Trump won the election for President of the United States in November of 2016, it would seem that any reason is also a good reason to go out and call for civil war. That being said, I believe that this is absolute nonsense. I, however, seem to be the minority opinion. In September of 2017, Katie Williams wrote an article for the website “The Hill” in which she stated, “Anti-fascist activists, or ‘antifa’, increasingly mobilized in the wake of President Trump’s election, are unapologetic about what they describe as the necessary use of violence to combat authoritarianism.” Authoritarianism is defined as the enforcement of strict obedience to authority at the expense of personal freedom. Interestingly enough, the only authority that has been asked to be obedient to is the law and I do not believe that abiding by the law is any reason to riot or revolt against the President of the United States.
In fact, the founding fathers, in their ultimate wisdom and uncanny ability to foresee the trials of this country long before they ever occur, left all of us an exact set of circumstances in which it is proper to rise up against our government. In the second paragraph of the United States’ Declaration of Independence, the founding fathers wrote,
“We hold these Truths to be self-evident, that all Men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness – That to secure these Rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just Powers from the Consent of the Governed, that whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its Foundation on such Principles, and organizing its Powers in such Form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.”
It was stated outright at the very moment that our country became a country, when the founding fathers initiated their own revolution against the tyrannical government of Great Britain, the very circumstances that they say fit to begin revolution.
The opposition may argue that we are experiencing a similar state of affairs at present but I submit that in order for a government or, in the case of the always hated President Donald Trump, an individual in government to be considered to be acting in a fashion that constitutes being defined as destructive that one must first identify the laws or article of the constitution that is being violated or disregarded. I ask that those who believe the government has reached a point in which it is time to take up arms against it to point out where violations have been purposefully perpetrated, for without being able to clearly demonstrate that one’s government has overstepped their bounds into realm of tyranny the peoples who choose to arm themselves against a lawful government are not revolutionaries but terrorists; terrorists are defined as persons who use unlawful violence in the pursuit of political aims.
I submit that, as citizens of what, in my opinion, is the greatest country to ever be, that we understand that there is a need for revolution when our government turns on us, but that time is not now. I believe that if and or when the time to take up arms is upon us that every man and woman will be able to see it. I believe that it is time that the citizens of this country recognize not only that there may be a time for revolution but that they recognize the correct set of circumstances laid out for us by our founding fathers to know when that time has come.

I took an oath to support and defend the Constitution. President Trump was duly elected according to the Constitution. I will therefore resist, by force of arms if necessary your effort to violate the Constitution through revolt.

Not unlike the Israelite's in Egypt we are slaves, our master (the Government) for the most part feeds us and treats us fairly. When the laws of government become too entangled in our personal lives and we become dictated to on how to live, work, vote and raise our children then its time to consider our next step(s). No political party is with out its faults or bad ideas. This is not like England prior to the revolution and the Boston tea party. We have for the first time been faced with a spoiled (minority) group of people who feel that loosing was NOT an option. Is it worth a revolution? Probably not so much. Will it happen, probably not. Why you ask? Because we are already too divided on too many other small issues to come together as an effective unit to form a discussion group let alone enough people to start a revolution. At current status there are 325.7 million Americans in the U.S. You would have to really have a life threatening topic to get 162.85 million people on your side to start a revolution. I don't think a party line is it. JMO.

Gun confiscation would be one of those triggers. Americans will not willingly give up their guns. As for who is elected and when? It all evens out in our Democratic Republic in the long run. Obama gets elected, doesn't have a clue the American people realize it and they elect Trump, a business-minded President and it appears like problem solved. Maybe more voters will notice the difference.

The Declaration of Independence, relying on Locke's Second Treatise, is a helpful standard: after "a long train of abuses."
The majority of the Declaration is simply a telling of those abuses and an account of their tireless appeal to the king for redress. When none came, after having exhausted all available means, they declared their independence.

It almost feels like Actors in our government, not the president, are actively working with media and foreign elements to discredit the president at every turn. Now those same Actors are actively assaulting our constitutional rights on a daily basis. We all took an oath we took very seriously. Those actors are becoming more and more numerous and the attacks becoming more frequent. It's obvious they are well funded and have media and intelligence backing. Something bad is going to happen and I am on the side of our Constitutional Republic and defending it from All enemies, both foreign and domestic. Gentlemen Charlie is inside the wire.

How can you say that? We are slowly rebuilding Racial harmony after the democrats tried to decimate it during the Obama administration. Stock market is stronger than it has been in decades, unemployment is lowest than it has been in decades and that includes all minorities too. There are more jobs available than people to fill them.. We are finally getting a grasp on terrorist in country like MS13, working to curb illegal immigration, the Military is being rebuilt after being decimated by Obama, Business that had gone overseas are coming back to the US. Taxes are supposed to be coming down and pay going up. HOW is America in shambles?

Did you notice how reference was made that the Founding Father's foresaw if a government turned on its people, then the people have a right to revolt? If you reread the post, write up in the Futures Army, and the Constitution, you will see where the, hopefully, never to happen, for at least 500 years an attempted overthrow of the old guard by a new school of thought is what individual interpretations are pointing by the country's own.

Do you recall in the mid 80s when the New Age Movement rose up. The new Utopia. Well, there were depictions that showed the New Age Life and a direct mirror image of what lay behind what appeared to be perfection. Maybe I am too cynical but do you believe we now have chia pet instant Utopia in the midst of all of the fires burning around us and those who hate us? For instance, China does not have warm cozy feelings for us, but they are buying heavy intrests into US businesses, we are drowning in debt to China, foreign money is floating our economy. AND COINCIDENTLY, our enemies are more quiet but not gone. If Mr. Trump successfully dismantles the VA, then how long will it be before veterans find out that they represent profit for privitization healthcare and don't even think about compensation checks for disabilities, what will happen with the payments?
I hope I am just a cynical pessimist who is behind the curve and can't see a strong, independent America.

PO3 Phyllis Maynard - Phyllis, I grew up in that era where the Pot smoking brain dead freaks were spouting off about the Utopia they said they wanted on the Communes yes another socialist way of life that does not work... I knew then and now that it does not work! As for the Obama administration decimating the Military if we did not have the overabundance of liberal generals and admirals in the pentagon and more with a love of America maybe we would have had a coup to get his socialist butt out of the White House and put the country back on the proper tack instead of apologizing to every 2 bit dictator on the face of the earth. As for President Trump dismantling the VA, What leftist rag are you reading? There is nothing like that happening.. The VA is growing and getting better . The IG has a select group going to Hospitals that have complaints levied against them and investigating where the problems are and fixing them. My Doctor who was my Primary care provider was promoted and sent to a certain mid west hospital to replace a Chief of Medical Care who was not doing his job adequately. I am going to miss her a lot because she was wonderful, I never had an appointment that lasted less than 30 minutes, some an hour where we covered everything. But if she ensures the Veterans at her new Hospital are taken care of the way she took care of me, That place will be looking good in no time. Do you know what a Fisher House is? Its the same as a Ronald McDonald House but at a VA Hospital. We are starting to build our Second Fisher House in South Carolina. making things better for the Veteran keeping their families close by. Not to mention a multi story parking garage so Veterans coming in will have a place to park, and bigger and better clinics. Being on the VAVS for the American Legion, I am up on everything happening at the VA. and you could not be more wrong. President Trump loves the Military he has a great and undying respect for all who wear the uniforms of our Republic. He is doing all he can to ensure we are treated well. Both Active and veteran. Lastly read two books. first is George Orwell's 1984. he wrote it in 1948. You would be surprised how closely Orwell hits home to what is happening today back after the end of WWII Then read his book Animal Farm. It is a spoof on the dangers of Stalinism (Socialism). You will see some remarkable similarities to Obama, the DNC and other high profile Democrat politicians.

What we really need is a revolution of the individual. Every human being must take a stand, individually, and denounce identity politics, Hollywood/"news" propaganda, and all other subversions of Natural Rights. This may be done peacefully by engaging in voluntary trade outside of the establishment and refusal to pay extortion (taxes).

Good article. Well researched, well written. Excellent topic for EVERYONE'S discussion. We will NEVER see the day when the left gives valid reasons for their opposition to Donald Trump and the Constitution and to God. The left represents the adversary and his methods are lying, cheating, stealing, and murdering. It's been that way from the beginning. We are appalled at it now because instead of reading about these things in history that has been "modified" to conceal the truth, we get to, now, experience it first hand. And the majority don't like it.
From 4 decades of research on this, I assure you that the left, who currently call themselves Progressives (which is a renaming of the American Communist Party from the last of the 19th century) have been planning a passive coup in this country. By insidiously infiltrating all key positions in government, finances, business, communications, and utilities, they are always in a position to have things go their way without giving away their intent. They are backed and financed by the Globalist World Bankers who ARE the Illuminati, with a mission to form their New World Order. The Constitution is the stumbling block for them in America which is the last major nation to fall to their rule. They are willing to accomplish this slowly so the gullible citizen doesn't recognize what is happening over time. Even if you didn't KNOW this, it would be easy to deduce from what is going on. Anyone with experience in military planning recognizes these same steps in conquering an enemy or their nation. So we ARE already at war with an enemy that few recognize or are willing to admit to. So the enemy insurgents already have their greatest advantage!
To finally address your question as to when we fight back, it is long overdue! We have already sat idle under tyrannical rule for much longer than our forefathers did, who founded this once GREAT nation! The virtue of being a conservative is our willingness to live by the rule of valid law. Liberals pay NO attention to those guidelines! That is why there has already been political violence in the communities and the cities!
Because of the "infiltration" by the enemy into the key positions within our government, we cannot get justice, even with a conservative leading this government. President Trump is NOT a king, by design, and does not have enough authority to make things right all by himself. The rest of the government is being run clandestinely by the Deep State infiltrators who are effectively blocking justice. We have seen how the DoJ & FBI are completely ineffective because the people inside conspiratorially refuse to enforce valid law.
The handwriting on the wall is easy for everyone to interpret. If the government is NOT working as it was designed to do, the time has already come to abolish it or eliminate the problem people with in it. WeThePeople are the TRUE government of America, and the ONLY ones with the authority to do what is necessary. EVEN this course of action is made part of the Communist plan to take over America from within. Their book "The Coming insurrection" lays out their plan they nickname "Top down, Bottom up, Inside out" for triggering the revolution. The control of the government (federal/state/local) by the Communist Progressive Democrat Liberals puts them into position to lay on pressure to society through burdensome and controlling laws, rules, regulations, & taxes ("top down") that will eventually cause the populace to rise up in revolt. (See how it works as planned!) Cass Sunstein was Obama's Regulatory Czar and was responsible to him for planning & writing all these regs. His wife, Samantha Power, was doing the same thing from within the UN (Agenda 21) as Obama's Ambassador to it.
When the population (OK, conservatives!) rises up in revolt ("bottom up") it causes a civil war to break out in which the country destroys itself ("inside out"). The House of Representatives holds the power of Impeachment of government officials (including federal judges and Supreme Court Justices) who are NOT in "good behavior" as stated in the Constitution. It is the House that controls the plug to drain the swamp! Let's turn on that pump!
