The problem with a revolt is that you cannnot change a tree by chopping the top of it off. Society has a certain mindset and a way of thinking, a revolution won’t change anything unless the thinking changes first. Also going back to my first statement, to change a tree you must change the roots. The foundation of this country is strong, going back to the roots is the only way to change how the country will grow. You asked when is the best time to revolt? Revolt by getting debt free, then get financially independent so if you need to leave work or change your lifestyle you can. A society not slaves to debt and a time clock is a dangerous society. Which is why we are bombarded by advertising and credit offers.

One of the smartest 6things we as a populace can do is QUIT VOTING for the same people just because we recognize their names, and get off our laze butts do research go talk to the new people running for offices ASK THEM HARD QUESTIONS. and PUSH TERM LIMITS. Congress is not a career. 12 years is enough for anyone. every Senator who has been in office over 1o years is a Millionaire. Where did all that money come from? Not from their pay check. Same goes for Representives. and that is State or Federal.

Context matters in this case. When the "evil government" you are rebelling against has nuclear weapons, drones, tanks, aircraft carriers, artillery, mortars, close air support, snipers, Special Forces, Attack Helicopters, Submarines, MLRS, APC's, Hundreds of thousands of trained troops, air superiority, naval superiority, (hell, everything superiority) revolting is likely to be a very short lived enterprise indeed.

Now I know right now someone is screaming at their computer screens "There's no way the troops would do that!!!", remember two things.

1) History indicates otherwise, just ask Germany in the 40's, or some Kent State Alumni.
2) Troops are just people. Lots with families. When faced with the decision to obey orders or they go to jail and can't support their families, rest assured spouses and children trump bumper stickers and strangers. Everyone is a patriot until it's time to do patriot things. Besides, anyone revolting will be declared a terrorist. And then it's not citizens but terrorists that are being assaulted, and that's much more morally palatable.

I believe that we are a very long way from having the military politically polarized enough that something like this would occur - Yes - there may be some minor grumblings within the ranks, but that has always been the case - our oath is what really matters, and is doing its job.

I have often pondered the thoughts and hearts of our founding fathers; the signers of the Declaration of Independence signed their death warrant. To a man they were the wealthy businessmen and leaders of the colony. If the revolution failed they would be hung as traitors to the crown. How bad did it have to be for that sacrifice to placed on freedoms alter?
We are far from those times; we can vote; we have representation and we have state sovereignty.

SGT Breck Wilson - Considering Californias talk of secession, which is granted just talk, I think states continue to have sovereignty. The three branches of government are intact and relatively independent of each other. Even during the civil war no state was seized or dissolved by the federal government. In some ways the states are a “forth branch” of the checks and balances of the federal government .

SGT Breck Wilson - Ok - then - it depends on what the State is trying to do - secession would absolutely require a federal response, as that would be treasonous, and that particular scenario was decided 150 or so years ago. detaining federal officials, who are only doing what the law requires, would be another scenario that requires a federal response. Obstructing them, or hindering them, while I find it distasteful, is not something that requires a strong federal response.

SSG Robert Perrotto - do we, really? To have a City. One MUST have a City Line, to have a County, one must have a County LINE. To have a State their Must be a State Line. To have a COUNTRY. THERE MUST BE BORDERS! How many of these do “we” really have? If one does Not Protect Ones Country, State. We have Nothing! Make your Stand, AGAIN! You took an OATH. NOW KEEP IT!

I have to ask you, brother, do you honestly believe everything you just stated? Honestly? Although I didn't vote for Mr. Trump, and god knows I didn't vote for the black messiah, at what point do we say our legislators have stopped legislating for We The People, and are more or less freelancing on their own and catering to special interests? If memory serves, our Founding Fathers, when they set up the three legislative branches of our government did so with the intent that these be "part-time" jobs, and they should be filled by everyday citizens so they could help in running their government. So, I'm curious, why are there so many long term members of the Senate and Representatives, and how each, on a base salary of $174,000 a year, could be multimillionaires? Just these facts alone make the phrase: Government of the people, for the people, and by the people, smell of cow dung because that dog ain't in this hunt. Those people don't represent us, never have! Right now they're trying strip everyday, decent Americans of their Constitutional rights, and slowly implement Saul Alinksy's plan of socialism and we're just sitting by and letting them do it. When it does come time to "Revolt" using your words, two very distinct groups of people in this country are going to be tasked with making some hard decisions. That's law enforcement and all branches of the military. Law enforcement swore an oath to uphold the laws of their state, the Constitution, and their States Constitution. All military, regardless of branch, swore an Oath to protect and defend our country, and our Constitution from ALL enemies foreign and DOMESTIC and I've never been relieved of my oath. So, when shit hits the fan, and it will, those groups will have to decide if they're going to fire upon civilians or not, other law enforcement or not, other soldiers or not. Obama in his administration put out an executive order giving the military white house authority to fire upon unarmed civilians. Whether or not that would have ever happened, who's to say. If it had, there'd be a lot of dead soldiers right now. You keep your faith in our government my brother. I think we have the greatest system on earth. It's our politicians that muck it up! When our gov't bends you over that desk, and they will politely ask to be kissed first.

SGT Daniel Myers and that's a cop out. I'm only 29 and I have read nearly all of the founding documents. In fact, they are all in a bound copy on my shelf right now. People are stupid because their parents haven't valied education, teachers have failed, and, most importantly, they are okay with being ignorant little dipshits. People would rather snapchat or whatever than read a damn book. All of the information is there but people are too lazy to find it and apply the knowledge afterward. Blaming everything else rathet than the people responsible is bull. There are bad politicians becuase people are idiots. People are idiots because they are okay with being idiots.

SGT Joseph Gunderson you're all of 29 years old and figured that out on your own did you?

While I can appreciate where you're coming from, what you've seen of life so far, versus what I've seen of life so far, makes you a little wet behind the ears yet son.

SGT Daniel Myers so, you have no basis to argue against my position so you turn to say that my poaition doesn't matter because I'm younger... Smooth. This is now a waste of my time. Go find some brain dead preteen to argue with.

SGT Joseph Gunderson when you did the same thing with my point you just continue to prove that younger people think they know it all and they don't. And btw SGT, I don't need a brain dead preteen to argue with. I have no idea sir if you're still in this man's army or not. I'm not. When I got out, the cell phone hadn't been invented yet so given the Army's motto of "Be all you can be", I used my time and became a doctor in three different disciplines so don't discount me or my intentions before you have all your ducks in a row sir, we clear?

Trump was elected by The People through a process stipulated in the United States Constitution. I will back him 100%, and given the opportunity, resist the traitors who try and overthrow The Peoples government.

Recall when Bill Clinton authorized the sale of missile guidance technology to the ChiComs. At that time I suggested he had violated national security. When would the Congressional Sergeant At Arms arrest him and hold him for trial? Every senior officer ducked his head and averted his eyes.

Then there was Bush II moving the Saudis our if the country after 9/11 when all other aircraft were grounded.

Then there was Obama, the Manchurian President sending money to Iran and loading the government with people who would not honor their oath to defend the Constitution.

Add to that documents we obtained when the Soviet Union collapsed that showed systematic infiltration and control of media, schools, Hollywood, unions, churches, and government. (Read DUPES by Paul Kengor or THE SWORD & SHIELD by Vasily Mitrokin.)

Now see how successfully the Democrat Party has become the Communist Party USA.

The question then becomes, “At what point will the military, vets, and retirees rise up to honor their oath to defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic?”

Agreed. I myself dislike the POTUS but he has done an amazing job, and since the beginning in Portland Oregon I have seen Antifa as a terrorist organisation after watching part of the job attempt to assault a mother for trying to keep her young child from walking into the riot. The time for revolution has not yet come even with a seemingly never ending partial shutdown. I think everyone needs to take a step back and fully evaluate what is happening in the country

SGT Gunderson, some of those folks are extremely intelligent. The problem is they are delusional and have zero grasp on reality — a form of insanity, actually.
