What is the hardest lesson you learned after jumping into someone else's battle, only to suffer losses, where they suffered no losses?

Been there, done that...fortunately, it worked out eventually

I am going to jump in and address my question. It seems everyone is shunning it. So here goes, short and brief. There was an incident on Rally Point four years ago, which is why I left. I jumped in and supported the issue. Mind you, I did not know of the existing issue among what started out to be 1 or 2 people. But, on the surface it was admirable. However, after I left RallyPoint I found out additional details. Had I known the unknown details, I would have never chosen a side because the matter was more complicated and should have been addressed differently. As a result of that I got caught in the crossfire. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO PUT YOUR CIRCUMSTANCE OUT THERE; JUST LET US KNOW IF THIS IS FAMILIAR TO YOUR LIFE.
