Missed it, but Bravo Zulu to those that got the job done in quick fashion. I rotated from Oki at outbreak. Camp Lejeune was a ghost town. The entire II MEF had a mass formation before rolling out. 7th Marines were already there along with 82d.

I was there from 3 Oct 90 - 4 Oct 91. Assigned as a Maintenance Company 1SG in Saharan. My unit set up and ran all the CSCs throughout Saudi and eventually ran the operation of the vehicle wash facility.

Thank you for making me feel old as f&$@. It was my last combat tour of a 20 year career. And dammit it wasn’t that long ago.
