He returned home a became a Middle School guidance councilor. A local Vietnam veteran was one of the crew that rescued him on the third attempt. Excellent story!

I have read and heard about veterans who live in forests. For various reasons they feel more comfortable and safe living that lifestyle and nobody bothers them. Perhaps there exists a spiritual aspect to it as well. There is often great beauty in nature.

I use to walk in forests and it was just me, my thoughts, and the forest. I absorbed the brilliant sun shining through the trees, the leaves ever so gently fluttering in the wind, and the sweet smell of the flora wafting in the air. It was a respite from the intense pain.

Thank you he was genius and I attribute it to talent and passion. Do you see the Buddha expression on her face? MSG Felipe De Leon Brown

MSG Felipe De Leon Brown - This is a better picture. He used this carving to win a Seattle art competition. He put Buddha expressions on all his girls. I don't know how he did it, but he was great at everything he did. I do know he had passion that drove him. Our yard in the Philippines was stunning as he landscaped it himself. We had that short thick grass. His coup de grace was replanting a plant that blooms a 3 foot wide flower that smells like rotten meat. He was a bird whisperer and tamed wild parrots. One year he put a super man cape and vest on a large cockatoo. He loved to travel especially in Asia. He use to sneak into Cuba. He was a well educated and cultured man. Needless to say he was a good role model for me, but I did apologize for being a jackass teen. He looked at me and smiled.

My mother took his death really hard. She moved back to Japan and is reclusive. I am no longer part of her life. I don't have good luck with mothers. My Korean mother abandoned me when I was 2 at a railway station. My adoptive Japanese mother abandoned me a few years ago. It breaks my heart, but the show must go on. Due to my life experiences, I have protective armor around me now.

The finest blades are always forged with fire and hammer. I tagged you on a comment that I made this afternoon. I believe that you'll appreciate what I have to say as well as the video. Our DURABILITY depends very much on how much EFFORT and DEVOTION we put in to our pursuits. Hang in there, Brother Ken.
