InfraGard is FREE.
I recently accepted a new position with the InfraGard Program, which is a partnership program with industry and FBI. I am the new National Sector Chief for the Defense Industry Base (DIB).

I am recruiting qualified people into InfraGard and for some positions with the DIB as SMEs. InfraGard is free to join. Each of the 85 InfraGard Members Alliances/chapters are paired with an FBI Field Office and is represented by both a private sector IMA President and an FBI Special Agent Coordinator.

The FBI’s InfraGard Members Alliance is an information sharing and analysis effort combining the knowledge base, and serving the interests of a wide range of private sector partners who own, operate, and hold key positions within some 85 percent of the nation’s critical infrastructure. With thousands of members nationally, InfraGard’s subject matter experts include business executives, entrepreneurs, military and government officials, computer professionals, academia, and state and local law enforcement; each dedicated to advancing national security.

While the FBI gains an improved understanding of the threatscape and a rich source of intelligence provided by the InfraGard organization, members are extended access to a host of information and assets that enable them to play a key role in securing infrastructure. In addition, members who utilize program benefits are better equipped to protect their investments by identifying, prioritizing and mitigating vulnerabilities, developing incident response plans, and enacting the most current security best practices.

INFRAGARD MEMBERSHIP is for the owners, operators, and security directors and their staffs of the 16 U.S. national key asset and critical infrastructure sectors, which includes members of local, state, and federal law enforcement, as well as individuals who are involved in the security of and protected research at educational institutions. A description of the critical infrastructure sectors, and the disciplines included within each one, can be found on the main InfraGard website. The 16 critical Infrastructure sectors as set forth in Presidential Policy Directive (PPD)-21.

There is a FIN Sector that you might be interested in. After all, FIN people do not like threats to their systems.

SSgt GG-15 RET Jim Lint, are the various agencies members or signatories to InfraGard? For example, I have securities registrations (Series 7 and 66) and am considered a broker and an investment adviser. The Financial INdustry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) is our self regulatory organization and they report directly to the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC). Do either of these entities have interest in or are they members or signatories of InfraGard?

LTC Stephen C. - FBI is the primary. It is a easy way to learn or report terrorism or crime. It is primary terrorism, cyber events over crime. The cyber theft from FIN is wild. A nation state is very active doing it.

SSgt GG-15 RET Jim Lint, I’ll have to check through my various internal compliance channels as whether I’m allowed to join and participate or not.

SSgt GG-15 RET Jim Lint I'm a member of Infragard. The application does require some personal information (e.g. SSN), but in my opinion the exchange has been worthwhile. I encourage anyone to 1) see if you have a local Infragard chapter and 2) to join it.

The chapters are located near FBI offices, with a few more. The SSN is due to a small background check for suitability by FBI.
