Lt Col Charlie Brown Thankfully I don't have to worry about over the counter hearing aids. The V.A. provides mine along with the batteries for life at no charge custom tuned to my specific losses.

Lt Col Charlie Brown hearing aids are expensive buggers.. I paid cash for a brand new set which I specifically wanted no bluetooth or any modern new age technology connecting to my phone crap. as a set were $3000. The VA gave me a set with Bluetooth and app connecting hardware and I have more issues with those than worth the effort of wearing them

SGT Jim Arnold That sucks that the V.A. provided ones didn't work correctly. I had one set that was a disaster. You have either 90 days or six months (forgot which) to return them for another model; that's what I did.

Cpl Vic Burk - they really had just 1 option, blue tooth enabled devices. it works but I get white noise. I keep mine as reserve when the other fail

I've had no real issues with my bluetooth hearing aids (Phonak) and phone calls and TV no longer have the "tin" sound because of the bluetooth function. The ONE very minor problem I've had was the right earmold that had to be replaced due to the pressure tube being too small which made it sound like when you have a head cold. Easily solved.
