Will my family be able to use our military insurance the day I get to reception or soon after?

My current jobs insurance policy ends the beginning of August. I ship out to Benning August 6th. Will my family get health insurance when I get there or is it not until I finish OSUT?

When you're at Reception, you'll fill out your DEERS info and put them on there. At that time they will covered. It may take a few days, but they'll show up in the system and should be able to go get ID cards and all that at that time. You'll want to talk to your instructors about electronically signing the ID card form in the system so that they don't have to wait until you get back to get ID cards.
