MAJ James Woods South Korea the government wants to talk but the people themselves are much more sceptical if not down right hostile to North Korea they feel North Korea is going to try to bully the South in authority and prestige which most cases will be right.

I learned more about Korean perception, skepticism, and desires in one year with TROKA than the 3 years combined. It helps when you're immersed in their military-political-social environment. Unification from an ideological and not physical stance is a real thing to them even if means two leaders and two capitals as long as it leads to an end to hostilities and removal of the DMZ.

The younger generation of Koreans really don't want reunification in terms how it's probably likely to go down because the Korean economy is just recovering from a massive recession and life is good for them right now and problem is if the North where to just fold into the South they got to worry about feeding and educating 25 million people for an indeterminate amount of time. Then you will get an in depth understanding at the current concerns and why very few Koreans today wish for full reunification.
