The EU is an excellent warning of what globalization would look like. The Brits are smart to get out. I hope we are smart enough to avoid anything like it

I found Nigel Farage's comment that referred to the EU as a supranational state interesting. Bureaucracy upon bureaucracy

I agree that Europe squabbled among themselves for centuries. I might add that an exceedingly globalized world in the early 20th century may have been at least one reason for the conditions that led to WWI.

This video shows the reasons for "Brexit" from a right-wing web site. Although the UK voted to severe ties, it was very contentious and close. Similar to the 2016 US election, rural English conservatives were the primary vote to "leave" while London residents, Scottish and North Irish liberals voted "remain". Although Britain has "sovereignty", the exit process is complicated (UK must establish new international regulations and pay off remaining financial obligations to EU) and there are concerns over stability for the Good Friday Peace Accords (While separated, peace in North Ireland was partially due to open border with Republic of Ireland as part of EU).

Side note for awareness. The speaker in the video is Nigel Farage, former leader of the UK Independence Party. There are concerns about what type of ties political ties that he may have with Russian government.

LTC Eugene Chu - your first comment shows fantastic insight, your second comment not so much.

I know very little about current UK politics, so I don't want to speak out of place or ignorance. There are probably more elected UK officials more closely aligned in their views of Russia than Farage. Your comment regarding Farage seems a little out of place to me.

Also, the videos I have watched through Prager U lead me to think that the website is more objective than subjective. I can think of plenty other right wing websites that I would never consider reading as a source of information.
