US House candidate Bouchard says he impregnated 14-year-old when he was 18

U.S. House candidate Anthony Bouchard had a relationship with and impregnated a 14-year-old girl when he was 18, he told the Star-Tribune late Thursday, hours after he disclosed the relationship in a Facebook Live video to his supporters.
Bouchard, who did not specify the girl’s age in the video, said he went public with the information to get ahead of the story after learning that people were investigating it in opposition to his candidacy. A Wyoming state senator since 2017, Bouchard has risen in prominence since announcing he would challenge Rep. Liz Cheney following her vote to impeach then-President Donald Trump.
“So, bottom line, it’s a story when I was young, two teenagers, girl gets pregnant,” he said in the Facebook Live video. “You’ve heard those stories before. She was a little younger than me, so it’s like the Romeo and Juliet story.”

No, Mr. Bouchard, it's like statutory rape. You, at 18, were an adult. She was a minor at 14. And in Wyoming, there is no "Romeo and Juliet law" like Bouchard is trying to allude to.

Capt Gregory Prickett Not back then. He fucking married her because the law then allows child marriage due to pregnancy or parental consent. And then divorced her 3 years later. She was 18,divorced with a kid. Then died by suicide at 20. And "almost estranged" from his son. Smh.

Capt Gregory Prickett - I'm saying that's why he wasn't charged when it happened - it wasn't illegal. It was legal to marry children then in Florida apparently though. That's why he wasn't charged. He should have been but we both know when that happened - I guarantee it was more common the child was forced to marry her rapist so as not to "shame" her family. Or send them away.
My dad said when he was in 8th grade (so in the 60s) a girl in his class got pregnant. She was sent away. I don't think she ever came back. I'm not sure who got her pregnant. But he said she didn't come back to school again after that. Even after she had the baby.
Okay I just read his son is only 36...36???? Child rape and marriages legal 36 years ago? Smh. I also didn't realize his son is charged with sex crimes. Although I wouldn't be surprised if it was due to being raised by his rapist father.

Yeah I've heard these stories and the adult 18 year old is charged and becomes a registered sex offender if convicted.
