Fort Carson
I don't know much about the base anymore but the city and surrounding area is just beautiful. Lots of physical amenities around town. Tons of places to hike, swim, camp, hunt, fish, bike and trails galore. If you love the great outdoors this place is for you. Winter has ice skating, skiing, cross country, sledding, and the good ole fashioned snowball fight. Summer has every kind of festival you can think of from Renaissance festival to Oktoberfest. There are Highland games and music in the park. We have Red Rocks music and Denver Broncos football. I came here in 1981 and have made it my home. It is one of the most beautiful places on earth to be.

Things to do here
Visit NORAD, I was there 3 yrs and didn't go but I wish I had. Also Pikes Peak is a very beautiful mountain view from the ground and from driving up to the top.

Advice for those moving here
Find housing with a garage. Hail and wind storms can be very damaging to vehicles.
