If there is a barrier to accounting for civilian deaths, then that seems wrong to me. However....

Like most of us here, I distinctly remember 9/11. 9/11 never would have happened if the US had destroyed AQ's leadership during the 1990s. I favor pre-empting the enemy, taking to fight to the enemy, addressing threats before we get attacked. Now, how to do that? It seems to me that we can put people on the ground to try and get at the enemy, or we can hit the enemy with standoff weapons.

If we put people on the ground, and something goes wrong, (stop me when this sounds familiar), how many people (ours, theirs, and civilians) are going to get killed sorting that out?

So, is the use of armed drones less destructive than other available, practical options that we have right now? If the answer is yes, then that's it. We have to defend our country.
