Women in Combat, their role, their deeds, their sacrifice
I know there are many that question the role of women in combat, I am not one of those. I have witnessed the courage of some amazing soldiers (gender was never the issue) and perform under the worse possible conditions. And I was shown true strength from a soldier that not only lost limbs, was burned extensively over her body and lost 2 amazing soldier as well and still had hope that she would see her children, and have a "normal" life.
Take a minute, and remember those that have served. They all gave some, some gave all, and all would have your back in any situation.

A soldier is a soldier or sailor (coast guard included) or airmen, gender has nothing to do with it.

In another topic after I had given my opinion which is one of approval towards women in combat roles I received a response that was essentially asking if I, "only wanted women in combat so I could work with them." That wasn't the specific wording but the way I took it is the person was implying that because I am a male I only wanted a woman to be there for purposes other than the mission.
My response, I don't care who you are, what race, religion, gender, orientation hell I don't care if you are a plasma being from another galaxy. If the bullets are flying all I care about is that I have someone there to watch my back and in turn I will watch theirs. I have never been in combat but I would be willing to bet money that if I was taking fire and there were explosions all around the last thing on my mind is going to be that the person I am fighting along side is a woman. History has proven that women can accomplish the same tasks and complete the mission the same as men. I have all the faith in the world that those two that earned their Ranger tabs will go on to do great things in a job I know I could never do and there will only be more coming in behind them to do the same thing.
I have nothing but the utmost respect for the men and women who risk their lives every day to help protect and save lives. I can't wait to start seeing more stories coming in of women doing amazing things to prove some of these ignorant block heads wrong about their capabilities.
