HUMIDITY, AND AN UNSTABLE ATMOSPHERE...

...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT NOON TO 8 PM FRIDAY FOR THE
NORTHEAST AND EAST CENTRAL PLAINS DUE TO STRONG WINDS, LOW
HUMIDITY AND AN UNSTABLE ATMOSPHERE...

.Widespread critical fire weather conditions will return today
across much of central and eastern New Mexico below snowpack. Very
strong southwest winds, low relative humidity values, near to
above normal temperatures, and a high Haines index are expected.
Relative humidity values may drop into the single digits for
several hours this afternoon across eastern New Mexico. Critical
fire weather conditions return Friday across the eastern plains
though temperatures will not be as high. Nonetheless, very strong
westerly winds and low humidity values are expected.

* 20 FOOT WINDS...Southwest 30 to 40 mph with gusts between 55
and 65 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...Minimum values ranging between 8 and 14
percent.

* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.
