About

Founded in 2009 by military spouses with you in mind, Blue Star Families is on a mission to strengthen military families by connecting them with their civilian neighbors—both people and organizations. Why? Because we believe that our nation is the strongest when the families of those who protect us have ample opportunities to thrive and feel supported within their community.

To date, more than 1.5 million military families around the world have benefited from Blue Star Families’ programs, which enhance family life, help spouses find jobs, provide caregivers with essential peer support, and much more. That number will only continue to grow as we expand our efforts and, by working with our partners, innovate new ways to build strong communities.

Our Impact

You know what it’s like to say goodbye before a deployment. And the sweet homecoming that follows that difficult farewell. You understand the loneliness of being new in town and knowing no one, and you’ve felt the pride of being a service member. But the support shouldn’t end once you stop wearing the uniform.

For that reason, Blue Star Families is dedicated to serving both active duty and retired military families through virtual and on-the-ground resources, research, and partnerships with organizations such as Starbucks to raise awareness of the obstacles military families face and also provide a sense of community to those who serve and have served our country.
