About

The mission of Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation (“Fallen Patriots”) is to provide college scholarships and educational counseling to military children who have lost a parent in the line of duty. Fallen Patriots is dedicated to serving the families of service members from all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces who have died as a result of combat casualties, military training accidents, service-related illnesses, suicide, as well as other duty-related deaths as ruled by the Department of Veterans Affairs.

$500 million is needed to fund the nearly 20,000 children who have lost a parent in the line of duty over the past 35 years. The vision of Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation is to ensure that every child of a fallen patriots receives all necessary college funding. We believe a college education is the single most important gift we can give these children and this is one of the best ways we can honor those who died defending our country.

Since 2002, Fallen Patriots has provided over $43 million in scholarships and other assistance to nearly 2,000 students.

How the organization supports veterans

The objective of Fallen Patriots scholarship support is to bridge the gap between the total cost of college and existing government assistance. While there are government programs that provide educational benefits to military children, a gap of approximately $25,000 per student remains. Fallen Patriots seeks to bridge the $25,000 gap between these sources of funding and the total cost of undergraduate college education, trade school, or vocational training.

Scholarships include, but are not limited to:
  • For high school students: SAT/ACT prep fees, college applications, AP exams, registration fees, college deposits
  • For enrolled college students: tuition (in-state & out-of-state, public & private), room and board, tutoring, study abroad courses, summer courses, internships
  • For college graduates: undergraduate student loans, reimbursements for out-of-pocket tuition payments, GRE/LSAT/MCAT prep and fees

Fallen Patriots support also covers living expenses, books, and a one-time computer stipend. Students must maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA to be eligible for scholarship assistance. Students who do not meet the GPA requirements are eligible for tutoring assistance.
