About

Military Benefit Association (MBA) is a 501 c (9) non-profit Voluntary Employee Benefit Association (VEBA) that was founded in 1956 with the missionof providing benefits to enlisted military personnel.  MBA has since evolved to include officers, spouses and children of military personnel, honorably discharged veterans, military retirees and federal civilian employees.

MBA’s primary benefit is quality, affordable group term life insurance.  MBA-sponsored life insurance is underwritten by Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, a leading multinational insurance underwriter since 1868.

MBA currently has over 80,000 members with over $10 billion worth of life insurance in force. The MBA Board of Directors is unique in the industry, comprised of one retired and six active duty military members. Three of the active duty directors are commissioned or warrant officers and three are non-commissioned.  No more than two directors can be from the same service branch and all five (USAF, USA, USN, USMC and USCG) are represented.

We understand that as a member of the military you have choices regarding life insurance.  Servicemembers Group Life Insurance (SGLI) and State Sponsored Life Insurance (SSLI) represent good options, but might be limited in their longevity or value.  It is important that service members have alternatives that will serve them a lifetime and provide the amount of insurance that is needed for the right price.

MBA membership comes with a robust portfolio of valuable benefits, including a TRICARE Reserve Select Supplement, discounted auto and home insurance, job placement assistance and complimentary online financial education seminars.  The MBA Scholarship Program will award $4,000 scholarships to 17 college age dependents of MBA members in 2016.

An active MBA Outreach Program supports military members and families through sponsorship of the Wounded Warrior Amputee Football Team, the Adaptive Training Foundation and the Military Child Education Coalition, among others.  These activities underscore the MBA commitment to the military community.

Members (both past and present) of the United States military deserve the best when it comes to insuring themselves and their families.  We put the best together, with Military Benefit Association as plan administrator and MetLife as insurance underwriter.

Thank you again for your support and for your service to our country.  We invite you to join a 60-year tradition of support for military members and their families.  Welcome to MBA.
