I don't know how to label this one. Spying on oneself? Profiling yourself? Learning about yourself? Using AI in a way I never even thought of. But here goes:

My friend is much younger than me. Around 40 ish. He worked in IT most of his adult life (so far). So he decided to use Chat GPT, and Gemini from Google plus the YouTube Analytics to study...well, himself. Not sure how exactly. He mentioned a couple third party apps he used- but I already forgot their names.

So basically he had CHAT GPT and that Gemini thing analyze his emails, amount of hours he spent on YouTube, and sites he visited and how long he stayed on them. And it changed his life.
Yep.
He said it turned out, he was watching up to six hours a day of "News." All from the same channel. And Podcasts from Talking heads that agreed with that News. And when he got the summary of his emails, well, he asked the ChatGPT to describe his writing in one word. It did.
Angry.
And that woke him up. He made me laugh when he said:
"My life now revolves around cat videos, dog videos, and my garden. Oh, and my wife is talking to me again since I dropped Politics as a conversation Starter. And I have taken up walking ...out doors."
He told me that when you ask a machine to give you a one word analysis of your hundreds of emails...and that word is: "Angry." Well, you stop and think.

"And my YouTube viewing was just one horrible happening after another...whatever hate, tweet, or ugly thing was said or done, I was all over it. "

Oh my.

So he has rearranged his life ...sort of. He now goes to a Garden Club, takes a Line Dancing Class twice a week, and enrolled in a Community College Course to learn American Sign Language. As he says:

"I am meeting people now, and not leaving ugly remarks in comment sections."

So I asked him how much News he watches now?

"None, Kevin. I don't have to be aware of every bit of corruption in the world, or have an opinion on everything. I don't have to choose sides anymore. I just try not to trip anybody in dance class...and hope my fingers made the right letters in ASL. And gardening...well, a lot of Vegetarians sneak in that group under the guise of Gardening...but I am learning to both spot them and fend them off."

Hmm? Using AI to reveal your self to your self. He said he didn't know how unsocial social media had made him. He is correcting that by meeting people in different contexts.
I think that is pretty cool. He is moving around now, learning new stuff, and meeting people that don't usually over lap. And he loves his ASL Class, because the Teacher is Deaf. So you have to learn to be able to talk with her. And he loves that challenge. And in his line dancing class, he is one of only three men! But his wife goes with him...so that's safe . LOL
Life is looking up, because he took a look at it.

@sgt Kevin Hughes you would label this one, "Ispy". (not I Spy) Do you remember the television series, maybe the 1960s. I think Bill Cosby started in it.

Hubby watches a lot of "Whose Line is It?" and I hear him laughing (he watches on his phone) I think he has learned without AI, that too much politics does make him angry. Normally, I encourage him to get out and do his woodturning (he turns for a charity) but it is too cold in his shop. Now he has taken up watercolor painting and that's a nice outlet for him. He spent yesterday at a friend's shop (he has a heated space) so they got to turn all day and talk sports. Much better!

Wow, from one Art form to another! I have no Art Talent other than appreciation. I took one of those 30 day Art Classes...and after 30 days...some stuff was almost recognizable. But I never lifted a pencil again. if you don't like doing something, you rarely can get good at it. I think one of the worst things that can happen to a person, it to have a talent you don't like!
