I applied to the Blues for their Aviation Ordnance slot. My competitor was single and got the transfer. Being married definitely had its drawbacks.

I know I had to turn down an assignment I would have loved but it would have been three years away from hubby and kids...my AF career is done but I still have a marriage and kids (and grands) so I made the right choice.

Awesome! Before they come to a Host Site they coordinate about three months in advance for a block out of Airspace so they can perform.
They take over at Towers and Radar Approach facilities and the only thing the Air Traffic Controllers do is watch for Unauthorized Aircraft that my stray into the area.
They even hide their Show Frequencies so that no one can transmit and interrupt things. One year in the Tower at Barksdale the guy in our tower put them on speaker for a few minutes so we could hear them and the coordination between the Pilots, it was pretty cool.
