The army has all of her information but she wants to switch branches And go airforce instead.
Reason being is the army wants her to weight 137 and she's 148. And can't seem to tape in! While 3 lbs is much easier then 11 and she's wanting to join and ship out Immediately.

What does she have to do? I know it's very rude since he literally has everything ready for her to.go to meps but they won't send her until she tapes or weighs!

She confirms her asvab score Jan 6th. She took a piCaT test I guess it's called. Score was a 35 with a gt score of 96 I think.

Harry Kummers - yeah, lived it. But also lived with height weight long term and doesn't get easier as you get older. Do whatever you want. You rig it, you ride it.

What about the army ? What if your abdominal becomes over their 35 inch limit? As a female of course. Her tape was 35 around the waist and was told she needed to lose another 2 inches?? I see your point and didn't know that. But what about the army in the sense or growth? LTC Jason Mackay

I don’t the standards when it comes to the Air Force, I know that at least in the Army you do get allowed a higher percentage the older you get, but also the older you get, the harder it is the shed body fat Harry Kummers

Harry Kummers - there is no "maximum" measurement. It is a proportion between height, waist, hips, and neck. If you can decrease hips and waist and increase neck and maintain height (I got shorter over 22 years) body fat goes down. So when they are talking two inches, look at the DA form 5501 in 600-9 and grind the numbers. Appendix B.

20% of the USAF PT test is the BMI or a BFA. For males the event used to be a go/ no go based on a 38" waist measurement. Under 38 was a go regardless of height.

She would have to score higher if she wants to go AF, at least when I joined back in 2011 you needed to score at least 50 for the AF.... she doesn’t pass tape?

From what I have heard, depending on her job, she might have to on “sea duty” but seeing as how she is interested in the medical field, she has a chance to never be on a ship and being at a hospital, but like I said, I worked with mostly medical personnel and religious personnel because the Marines don’t have those mos’ available Harry Kummers

SGT (Join to see) - Don't forget that Amphibious Assaults Ships and Aircraft Carriers have large medical facilities, an LHD has a 600 bed capacity. You can be medical and end up on a ship and at Sea. The Navy considers out of CONUS tours as "Sea Duty" even if your duties are all shore based also.
I'm old enough to have had a real draft card. One of my college roommates was one of the few people I ever met that I really considered to be a pacifist. When he go his draft notice, he volunteered for the Navy as a conscientious objector, so they made him a Navy Corpman. They just neglected to tell him the part that Navy Corpmen often served with Marine line units, which what he got. Then they stuck him out on a firebase on the DMZ during Tet.

In my opinion, this young lady needs to make a commitment to not be borderline weight controlled. Patience and working on her total fitness is the best approach. As we all know, service members distracted by weight issues are not the happiest of professionals.
